From the desk of Kim Junsu:
by
faricsyung: Junsu-sshi, if you are to choose one TVXQ! song to be sung on your own for your solo album, which would you choose?
hmmm. "Thanks To". from the first album :)
by
brustreet: What's on Yoochun's R&B CD mix?
... "Do Me".
by
butterflyweb: Are you close to Junho? Do you miss him a lot when you're away from home?
i'm really close to hyung and i miss him a lot, yes! :) hyung knows me very well. i get to talk to him more often nowadays cause i'm less busy than before, but when my activities start... i'm not so sure :(
by
bitterkoekjes: Junsu, will Yoochun be helping you with your solo album prep? He writes beautiful music and you have a beautiful voice. It's a perfect match!
ohhhh, um. it is a secret! :)! you'll just have to buy the album and listen to it. and if you find that song, remember not to skip right to it cause skipping tracks on a new CD is a bad thing to do :|
by
candielover93: Junsu, do you ever miss four other people next to you when you sing?
always. constantly. but someone told me i can do it and i know it and everyone, too, so i'm going to work hard~ please support me, too! :)
by
colindubya: Which defines you better: your duck butt or your eu kyang kyang?
(Changmin: Neither.)
do not listen to evil changmin :| i'd say both. i'm very proud of both of them 8)
by
thevignette: Junsu, what's one secret you're keeping from the rest of the members?
(Yunho: You're keeping secrets again, Junsu?)
... um. maybe. but if i tell you then it won't be a secret anymore, will it~ :D
by
skyefyres: Junsu, so I hear you have a brother complex and love him to bits... how does living with your four former band members compare to living with your brother? Given a chance, would you go back home to be with your actual family? Why or why not? (sorry if it sounds like a question from school, I still love you lots XD)
i do! maybe not a "complex"... but i do love junho. as much as i love the ex-members. but- how should i word it... i love living with my former band members more than because... well, junho understands me more than anyone else, but the ex-members are very, very special to me- aish, this is a difficult question! of course i'd love to live with my family- they're my family, after all! but my family will always be there and we'll always have that special connection but the members are people i've come to love, you know? and they've also come to love me and i've learned so much about them and i think i'd love to learn much much more! so the answer is no, given the chance, i wouldn't go back to live with my family ^^; (aaah, it's okay! thank you for supporting me! :D)
by
kurogoma: Will the other four get to make special appearances with you on your CDs and concerts in the future?
i'd love that to happen, of course, but i might need manager-sshi's help to negotiate this with management :|b wish us luck!
by
vicvickyrox: Junsu, don't you think you should make a special track featuring dongbangshinki in your new album?
i do! :O i thought about it, but due to some unplanned circumstances, there was not enough time to prepare... :); we're sorry! maybe for the next album?
by
silhouettedwing: Junsu-yah, if you could choose to duet with any of your ex-members, who would it be?
all of them! but if i really have to choose only one... then it's Jaejoong-hyung. :)
by
ciel_dao: How will you avoid and/or deal with comparisons of your solo career to TVXQ's career?
... why would i want to avoid it? it'd be an honor for me to be compared to TVXQ. after all, TVXQ's career was really, really great, don't you agree? :]
by
under_an_oak: Junsu-ssi! Hwaiting! All the best with your solo! What kind of genre will you singing in? Mainly ballads or something edgier?
oak-sshi! thank you! i think there'll be a bit of everything :) mainly ballads and jazz, but there will be some RnB, some pop, hip-hop, swing, big band~
by
unmyeong: If you had to sing in only one genre, which would it be?
i ... uh. i'm not sure. i mean, there are so many to begin with and i love all of them. but if i really had to choose, i'd probably go for ballads. :D
by
chunxo: Oppa's voice is amazing, will you still sing with the others?
every morning and whenever we have the chance to~ and thank you!

cindelius:
*What's one thing that you're proud of teaching or passing on to another person?
ahh, i'm not sure if i'm fit to be a 'teacher' :o i don't think i've passed anything on to anyone! on the contrary, i learn a lot from people i work with. mayyybe in the future i'd love to coach someone to sing, but right now, i think the only thing i'm passing on is my optimism. hopefully my determination, too! and of course i'm proud of them :D
*What's a common misconception about you that you'd like to set straight?
that i've always wanted to go solo? i mean, that's true to some extent - it was my dream, but... not at the expense of breaking TVXQ up. it's a great relief to know that the members are supportive of my solo career. i wouldn't be able to do it otherwise! :|
*When you write a song, how does it come to you? (ie which part comes first? which is the most difficult? do you put music to words or words to music?)
words come first. always words :o and then i start with the music and bother all of the ex-members to sing this or that part the way they would interpret it, and the music just comes :3 (and if it doesn't, i just poke yoochun to help me with it).
*Out of TVXQ, whose voices complemented each other's the best?
jaejoong and yunho. ... or jaejoong and yoochun. or jaejoong and changmin. or jaejoong and m- are you seeing a pattern? :);
*Is there any pressure from your parents to settle down with a family instead of continuing to pursue such a public career? What are your feelings on it?
of course there is. luckily, i have junho-hyung to fend them off :D!
as for my feelings on it, i don't think i'm at all near ready. i mean, i'm still a kid at heart and everyone still seems to take care of me. i want to be able to take good responsibility for myself before taking care of other people :) isn't that what a man should be like?
*When you've had a bad day, what do you do?
sing, sing, sing. or bother other members!
*What prompted you to start the anonymous butt-groping game? Whose reaction was the best/most-fun-to-watch?
ahh i really was just curious! everyone says i have a duck-butt and i just really want to know the difference between a duck-butt and... well, TVXQ-butt?
yunho-hyung's reaction was the best, especially when i first started doing it. he just looked so violated~ :D
(Yunho: I was violated!)
(Changmin-sama: For the record: he didn't say me because I ran after him and got revenge when he did it to me. :D)
*Is success in America a goal of yours? Why or why not?
um. not necessarily. it'd be nice if it really happens, but i've learned that people have different preferences in music. as TVXQ, we were happy with the size of our fanbase in America and i think i'd be happy, too, if my fanbase in America is as big. that said, there's more variety in my solo album compared to that of TVXQ's, so hopefully i'll be able to attract more American audience?
From the desk of Jung Yunho:
by
brustreet: Are there any students in your dance classes that remind you of yourself, Junsu or Changmin?
Ah, only the three of us? But yeah, there is one who reminds me a lot of Junsu when we were both trainees, actually. All that enthusiasm and talent and imagination for really elaborate pranks. Makes me feel kind of old looking at him! -.- And in a way they all remind me of us, years ago.
(junsu: really? really? :o i've got to meet him! maybe i can be a guest instructor in your class, hm~)
(Yunho: Really! I'll see what I can do. :) )
by
butterflyweb: Who's the member you worry about most and why?
Wow, that's a hard question. I worry about everyone, and they usually take turns being the most worrying. For different reasons, obviously, but yeah. They've all given me grey hairs!
by
bitterkoekjes: Yunho, have you ever thought of encouraging your sister to work in the business too?
Not especially! She's always been interested in different things, and I'm really proud of her following her own dreams. (She's just finished college actually. She wants to be a teacher, so I guess we've ended up doing kind of the same thing anyway.)
by
delicatinelity: Dancing is a big part of your life. Can you see yourself doing this now until the end?
Hmm, I'm not sure. I do enjoy it a lot, but I'm not sure I won't get too old for it eventually. And there're other things I'd like to see and do, so. We'll see, I guess. For now, it does make me happy, though.
by
candielover93: Yunho, even though you say that you feel satisfied with teaching, do you ever miss the stage with all the fans cheering you on as you complete a particularly difficult dance move?
Well... yes. Of course. But there're good things about what I do now too. It's got its own rewards and satisfactions, and they're different but just as good in their own way.
by
colindubya: In comparison to oh, say, six years ago, are your fans less crazy now, because they've grown up with you? (HAVE MY BABIES, YUNHO-SSHI!)
(Changmin: Yunho's not a female, so he actually lacks the parts to do this...)
Changmin's got a really good point. Also, I would never call our fans crazy.
by
thevignette: Yunho, what is the best part about having the other four members in your life?
Having them in my life. Everything about it, even when they're ganging up on me and making me clean up after them. And Changmin's going to tell me off for being a sap now.
(Junsu: I'll do it. Hyung, you're being a sap :D)
by
skyefyres: Yunho, how has your life/role changed now that you don't have to play leader? Do you feel more freedom or is it weird after that pressure suddenly went away?
A little of both, actually. A bit of me'll always feel responsible for them, I guess. And I'll always be their friend, which's got responsibilities of its own.
by
kurogoma: How will you celebrate upon Jaejoong's and Yoochun's return from their vacation?
It's a secret! ;) Won't give anything away to say there'll be lots of hugs involved though, I guess.
by
ciel_dao: Do you see yourself ever performing on stage again (with Junsu, solo, dance crew, etc...)?
That's up to other people! But if I was asked to perform with Junsu again I definitely wouldn't say no.
by
under_an_oak: Yunho-ssi, I hope you're enjoying your new career with SM! ♥ I hope your new dongsaengs are behaving! My question is; being a sunbae-nim, what would your advice be to your new pupils on surviving the entertainment business?
Have good friends who remind you who you are when you get home. :)
by
unmyeong: What is the book that has changed your way of thinking in some way?
Harry Potter. :D But no, actually, it's hard to say. Every book I read makes me think, so I can't really put my finger on one particular book. Harry Potter's really good though!
by
chunxo: Oppa~ i miss seeing the five of you singing together, can i ever see the gods rise again? ;-;
That's not up to us to say at the moment. You never know, though! And thank you for supporting us still. :)
by
chloe1910: How is the appa of the group coping with taking care of their dongsaengs without the help of the group umma? What do you miss most about Jae (besides his cooking)?
I'm managing okay! They're pretty grown up now. :) And I've only got two to look after. Uh... what I miss most? Probably the end-of-the-day chats. My journal just doesn't talk back right. And his cooking. ;) Though Changmin's getting there!
by
under_an_oak: I remember all those times you and the rest worked so hard to the point of falling sick, and it was painful for me to see/read about it. But at the same time, I'm jealous. You're working so hard for something you're really passionate about it. Yunho-ssi, can you give me some words of encouragement? I'm working hard (or trying to) in a job that I really hate, and I really cannot give up on it if I want to help my family. Some fighting words from you would be sincerely appreciated T_T
Hwaiting! I'm sure your family really appreciates what you're doing for them, and it's very admirable. Let's both work hard together. :)♥
by
cindelius:
*What piece of advice has meant the most to you?
My mother told me when we were starting to never forget that Jung Yunho and U-know Yunho weren't the same person. That was really important sometimes, helped me get through some tough times.
*If you could change one thing that you said or did in the early days of TVXQ, what would it be and why?
I don't really think I'd change anything, to be honest. Everything that happened, even all the mistakes we made and the not-so-good things that happened, helped get us here.
*After all of these years together, is there anything that still catches you by surprise about the others? If so, what?
Oh, lots of things. Even things I already know manage to surprise me from time to time. :)
*I love partner dancing (ie salsa, west coast swing, tango, waltz, etc.). If you haven't tried it before, what draws you toward the type of dance you do now and not these others? If you have tried it, how'd it turn out?
I've tried it and really enjoyed it - Donghee took us to his father's classes once - but I didn't have the chance to do it regularly or a partner, so I never got to learn much. Maybe I can now!
*Now that it's in the past, what's one thing that you all got away with as TVXQ without your supervisors knowing?
Can't tell. Jaejoong would kill me. ;)
*As a child, you must have had a vision of what you would be like when you grew up. What's one thing about your current self that would surprise your younger self?
Probably that I'm not married with at least one child yet.
From the desk of Shim Changmin:
by
brustreet: Can we have one of your recipes?
They say a good magician never reveals his secrets. :D Think of me as a magical almost-chef. (Also, are you channeling Jaejoong-hyung? :O)
by
butterflyweb: If you had to pick one novel that changed your life, what would it be?
Hmm, that's a little tough. I've read a lot of novels that really made me think in my life, but honestly, The Art Of War stayed with me a little more than any novel.
(Junsu: naturally...)
by
bitterkoekjes: Changmin, is cooking going to be your only activity for now? I know it's already hard work, but I have this vision of you directing Junsu's MV!
Right now, yes, it's the only thing I've got planned. I'm doing college courses like a normal person now, so that means getting up early for classes and having a lot of homework. Though, if Junsu ever asked me to help him with an MV, I'd probably cave in and try my best. ^^
by
delicatinelity: Are you considering to study abroad to become a chef? Your love for food surpasses all the members... I think it would be good for you to see the other flavors the world has to offer.
Eheheheh, does it? :P Well, for right now I'm concentrating on Korean and Japanese foods, but eventually, I plan to branch out a little, yes. Not until I get my bearings, though.
by
candielover93: Changminah, when you're in the kitchen cooking or messing around, do you ever wonder how it'll be like if Jaejoong was next to you in the kitchen?
Most of the time, yes. I guess you could say Jaejoong has an imprint in the kitchen, so it's kind of hard to go in there and not think of him. I'm very excited for him to come home and cook with me and I think we'll make a very good team. ;D
by
colindubya: I made place settings for Yunho and myself... can I expect you here with a five course meal prepared for us at 6:30?
My bedtime is 6:29:59, sorry. :DD
by
thevignette: Changmin, what is something one of the members has said that you'll never forget?
As most know, when I joined SM, I didn't have a group. I worked on my vocals alone. When the group was formed, Yunho-hyung looked at me and said: 'Well, I guess you're not singing by yourself, anymore.'
by
skyefyres: Changmin, how does world domination sound? (because I totally think you'll rule the world one day....)
Ahhh, it sounds very nice. Although, it also sounds a little tiring. Thank you for your faith in me. ^^v
(Yunho: Save a small country for me, Changmin-ah! :o) )
by
kurogoma: now that you are studying to be a chef, probably cooking and baking for four other people for the rest of your life, who do you think will be your favorite food-taster, and why?
Cooking and baking for only three! Jaejoong-hyung can cook for himself (or help). However, I think I don't think I'll have a favorite; they're all more than welcome to butt in and taste my food. (Actually, Yunho-hyung hangs around a lot, since Junsu's at the studio more often than not.)
by
ciel_dao: Would you have liked to pursue photography as a career if the chances were less lucrative?
I don't think you know what that word means. ;) In all seriousness, however, lucrativeness didn't play a part in my decision; I went for the most sensible career. Being a chef means I can stay here and see family and friends more often (and cook with Jaejoong-hyung!). Had I decided on photography, I would have wanted to photograph the world. :D
by
under_an_oak: Changmin-ssi, all the best in your new career! A chef's hat looks good on you, but I hope you'll refrain from the wasabi & curry powder mix in your chocolate truffles like last time ^^;; I hope it's not too forward a question, but, why cooking?
Well, partly because I do love food, and partly because I love watching Jaejoong-hyung cook. So, cooking with him will be even better. :) (And I can blackmail the others, but shhh. It's a secret.)
by
chunxo: Oppa, i know you like food a lot. so can i be your chocolate cake and you be my whipped cream? How do you feel about chocolate pudding instead? You still live with the other oppas, do you enjoy it?
I might reconsider my love of food. And yes, I enjoy living with hyung-deul very much. :) They give me entertainment - it's no fun tormenting inanimate objects, after all. :DD
by
renaldomoon: So, how big is your refrigerator now?
Not bigger. But it is fuller. ^^
by
chloe1910: Have you ever imagined what Jaejoong's reaction would be when he realized that your cooking skill has surpassed his?
Well, my cooking skills haven't surpassed his at all, as I've just barely begun my classes at the university. I still have quite a ways to go. :) If I'm honest, though, I don't think they ever will. ^^
by
under_an_oak: Changmin-ssi, I know your fans like to call you 'oppa', but I feel really weird when I try to imagine myself doing that because I am, unfortunately, very much a noona fan ^^;; So my question is: in Korean culture, is it really weird if a girl calls a guy 'hyung'?
Noona neomu yeppeo~~~ ^^ Well, if she's Korean, then she'll know not to! But sometimes foreigners get mixed up, and it's okay, since they don't know any better. :)
by
cindelius:
*Whose praise do you value the most?
I value any praise. If it comes from anyone at all, it's special.
*What's one fear that you haven't shared with the others?
I think they know all my fears. Ten years together is a very long time, and you become really, really close, then. Even if you don't think they know something, they probably do.
*Is it awkward to take classes with the regular public? Have you made any friends?
It's a little awkward, yeah. There're still a few fans who take pictures of me as I'm walking around campus, and I've been asked for autographs a lot, as well. But I have made friends, mostly with boys my age who never really saw the big hype about our group, haha! A few girls, as well, too, though! :))
*What are your views on bisexuality?
I believe that love comes in many forms. Age, race and sex don't matter. :) (Although species, I may be tempted to give an exception for. :S)
From a really big table the three of them sat and fought over the paper at:
by
vicvickyrox:
What happened when SM announced that the group would disband? Did the fans protest?
Yunho: The fans weren't exactly happy about it, no, and that was naturally very flattering, that after ten years they still wanted us to go on performing for them.
junsu: i agree! it's very nice to know that they support us until the very end, fans from the early days of tvxq and even new fans!
Changmin-sama: A lot of crying. (but agreeing with hyung-deul, it was very flattering. ^^)
Has anyone called anyone of you "Ahjusshi" yet? How did you feel about it?
junsu: no, not yet :| and i hope never ever ever. ever :| because it'll feel so weird. i am (very, very) young at heart!
Changmin-sama: No, and if anyone ever does, I'll use magnae powers on them.
Yunho: Yes. It was weird. :(
by
chloe1910:
What would be the one thing(each) that reminded you of Jae & Yoochun in your daily chores?
Yunho: Jaejoong 'supervising' when I do the washing up; Yoochun complaining about how much he hates hoovering.
Changmin-sama: Daily chores? What is this you speak of?
junsu: singing! and poking fun at yoochun! (i certainly don't miss being dragged to help with chores >> )
by
under_an_oak:
I've always wondered about this; just how much creative control did you guys have over your music/style/image?
junsu: not in the early days, but as we grew older and gained more experience (like in rpgs!) we were allowed a little say here and there :)
Yunho: Junsu's summed it up perfectly. :)
