( missing you )
woohyun missed it. he missed the warmth that he felt whenever sunggyu
hugs him. he missed the laughter and smiles the two of them would have
between each other. he missed how the two of them would have their private
moments together, just cuddling and sharing a blanket in the balcony, under
the cover of the night sky. he missed it.
woohyun chokes on his saliva, blinking away the tears that were threatening
to fall any moment. he hated himself for letting sunggyu go, letting everything
that he had go. there was nothing he could do to mend his past, his actions.
everything ended a year ago. the management said that they were going to
disband infinite. the reason was simply because infinite didn’t bring in enough
money for them. infinite wasn’t worth investing on. each of infinite cried, the
tears constantly flowing and for a week, there was nothing but silence hanging
around the dormitory.
that wasn’t the only bad news that the management had presented to them on
the eighth of june, just a day before their third anniversary. the management
was not going to renew their contracts, only sunggyu, dongwoo, hoya and
myungsoo’s. the other three members were just thrown away by their cold-
hearted management. woohyun bit his lip, crying even harder as he recalled
the words that came out of their boss, no, he wasn’t their boss, lips.
“we’ll only be renewing sunggyu, dongwoo, hoya and myungsoo’s contracts.”
sunggyu had come around to hug him, comforting him by trailing small circles
on his back and murmuring sweet nothings into his ears. woohyun couldn’t bear
to be in the same room as the four of them. he had thought that he was talented,
he was on the same league as them. but, all those thoughts were dashed when he
heard that his contract wasn’t going to be renewed.
woohyun hated the four of them. he hated how their contracts were going to
be renewed. he shoved sunggyu aside, packing up his things in the dormitory.
he bit his lip dragging his luggage out of the dormitory. no one could stop woohyun,
not even sunggyu.
he took a bus back to his hometown, locking himself in his room and refusing
any contact from the outside. the other companies who wanted him after hearing
that woollim had terminated their contracts, he ignored them all.
woohyun’s mother couldn’t see her son suffering anymore so she booked tickets,
tickets to america. she knew, in this way, her son wouldn’t suffer. she wanted her
son to be happy and she was going to do everything it took to bring a smile back
onto his face.
woohyun chuckles, shaking his head at how childish he was. he looked up
into the sky, remembering sunggyu’s words to him on his birthday.
“see those two stars there? that represents the two of us! we can never be
apart, alright?”
he looks down at his wrist, staring at the bracelet that was on it. it was a gift
from sunggyu. he takes it off gingerly, noticing inscriptions at the back which
he had never noticed before. ‘sunggyu x woohyun, the stars are watching.’
why hadn’t he noticed the inscription? he yelled. and yelled. and yelled.
“sunggyu-ah... you said that the stars are watching the two of us, right? so,
do you know how i’m feeling right now? do you know that i, i, i actually love
you...?”
secret ending:
sunggyu couldn’t believe his eyes. he didn’t expect to meet him at such a
place. not at all. he was in america, here to attend the annual ‘korean music
festival’. he didn’t expect him to be in the crowd, where it consisted of more
females than males. he couldn’t stop his body, shoving himself into the crowd
to look for the man that had disappeared for a year.
“nam woohyun!” he shouted, screaming his lungs out as he blinked back
tears. he was positive that it was woohyun. the familiar silhouette, the black
eyes, it could only belong to nam woohyun. he shoved about the crowd,
ignoring the security that was chasing after him and the mob of girls that could
crush him any moment.
he finally got a grip on woohyun’s arm as he turned him around. their eyes
met for a moment before woohyun broke the eye contact and tried to break
free from sunggyu’s iron-like grip. sunggyu pulled woohyun into a bone-
crushing hug.
"hey namstar, i told you already right?" sunggyu said, his eyes forming the
crescents that woohyun hasn't seen in a long time. the older male leans in, a
smile on his face as their lips met for a kiss.
"the stars are watching."
