A/N: This fiction has about 20 chapters which is approximately 50,000~ words. I will update it weekly, sometime twice a week if I'll have the time. :)
A huge, enormous, gigantic thanks to
splashie_xyt who has been a great friend! :D Thank you for being awesome~!
Special notes and warnings; I've spent a few good months in Korea, and I know that they use a three-grade system in high-school, just like in my country. There's a freshman, a sophomore, and a senior. No junior. Sorry if this is a bit confusing.
Also, my mother language isn't English, so forgive me in advance for any grammar mistakes!

Chapter 02
“I’m not even going to ask.” Hoya opens his locker.
“Well, you should. Show some concern, god-damn-it, I’m your friend!”
“Alright. What’s wrong?” He stuffs his books inside, before turning back to Sungyeol.
“I don’t want to talk about it.” He mutters miserably back.
Hoya laughs.
“Let me guess. Woohyun miraculously managed to make this worse.”
Sungyeol nods somberly, as they start to walk towards the cafeteria. “I feel betrayed.” He wants to spill to Hoya that he and Woohyun were involved, and that Woohyun had actually left him for a senior with a white car. How can Sungyeol even compete with that? He doesn’t even have a license yet!
They never told anybody about it, and Sungyeol wanted to keep it that way. What if Hoya will be disgusted?
“Scratch that, I am betrayed! Woohyun cheated on me!” He decides to be vague and get it over with.
“What? He confessed that he shared more secrets with his teddy than with you? Oh no! What a tragedy!”
“Shut up,” Sungyeol playfully pushes at him. He’s not really hungry. His mom made him such a cute lunchbox. He looks up to Hoya, giving him a miserable look, before the other sighs.
“Sungyeol, I’m sure Woohyun was wrong somewhere and I’m sure he regrets it, but you’re not all sparkles and rainbows; Look how childish you’re acting. You should just talk this through. You’re just making yourself look bad.”
“Thanks for the reality check.”
Hoya laughs again.
Hoya’s brutally honest, even when he jokes, and it’s not like he gets offended, but it kind of bugs him, somewhat, that perhaps he thinks that somewhere, deep down in a small corner of his heart, Hoya might be right.
“Oh, talking about the devil,” Hoya waves to Woohyun to sit next to them.
“Hi,” he says to Hoya before turning to Sungyeol. Sungyeol busily starts eating. “Why didn’t you answer my call yesterday?”
“It was late, I was sleeping.”
“No, you weren’t, your lights were opened.”
“I was sleeping.” He insists.
He had never felt this hurt before. Like somebody stuck a sword into his back. Facing Woohyun is even harder than he thought it’ll be. Sungyeol can’t even look up from his lunchbox.
“Sorry I didn’t call earlier.” His voice sounds a little gentler, and now Sungyeol does look up, to see the expression on his face.
“It’s okay,” he manages a fake smile. “I saw how busy you were.” It comes out like venom from his mouth, and Woohyun’s eyes bulge up.
He bites his lip in distress and scans the cafeteria.
“I’ll just go… sit there.”
He sits next to his new boyfriend, of course.
Sungyeol hates the both of them and wishes that they’ll break-up as fast as possible.
Hoya looks disapproving.
∽
If Woohyun got himself a boyfriend, so can Sungyeol.
“What?” Hoya doesn’t know he’s the victim yet, when they’re shuffling through the people to get to the library. They both have a project to work on, and some senior that Hoya knows agreed to help them out. Hoya hangs out with a lot of seniors, most of which Sungyeol doesn’t know, probably because of his good looks and mature behavior. He’s also the most popular guy in class, so it figures.
Sungyeol manages a sweet smile, but Hoya gives him this disgusted look and pushes him through the doors.
“Looks like Hyung isn’t here yet.” Hoya examines the half-empty library.
They find some isolated table, and sit down, rummaging through their notebooks.
Sungyeol looks up from his textbook. Hoya’s fairly handsome. Though thinking about him like that would be a bit disgusting, but all he needs is to demonstrate that he can do just fine without Woohyun and maybe even make him jealous. Hopefully.
“If I kissed you suddenly, would that be weird?”
Hoya drops his pencil in surprise. “Dude, seriously. I’m trying to study.”
“I’ll take that as an ‘I don’t know’.”
“What the hell, man? Of course, it would be weird. It would be really weird. Not to mention down right disgusting. And stupid of you, because I’ll hit you.”
“Even if it will help a friend?” Puppy eyes should work here, but Hoya starts snickering.
“I’m going to assume you’re going crazy without Woohyun. So you better stop before I hit you. For real.”
Sungyeol chuckles before looking down his math problems.
Who cares about math problems?
He skims through the faces in the library. Who could be a good potential boyfriend? They all look like nerds. Either too short for him, either zip-faced, either seriously ugly.
Woohyun would definitely not take the bite if it’s someone uglier than him. It needs to be somebody funny, and charming and wickedly handsome. That way it’ll look like Woohyun was just an appetizer to the main course.
“Hi, sorry I’m late,” He’s out of breath, and sounds a little familiar. Sungyeol turns around.
Oh god, Hoya’s senior friend is Woohyun’s boyfriend!
Sungyeol feels like dieing.
“Hey, you’re Woohyun’s friend as well, right? Kim Sunggyu.”
Sungyeol shakes his hand despite the need to just disappear on the spot. “Lee Sungyeol.” He doesn’t smile, though.
“Uh, only you came, Hyung?” Hoya looks behind him, expectedly.
“Our lessons got delayed.” Woohyun’s ugly boyfriend explains to Hoya. “Dongwoo had to stay for extra tutoring.” He explains.
Hoya looks disappointed, but nods wryly.
“You need to start up with the physics project, right? I did it with Dongwoo last year. It’s pretty easy. But first let’s start up with the math equations; it’ll really help you once you start. Your teacher probably gave you some sheets regarding it.”
“Yeah,” Hoya nods.
Hoya is just as eager to start this thing as Sungyeol. The both of them aren’t really studious when it comes down to it. They prefer pulling pranks on people and going to karaoke or the arcade. Hoya also drags Sungyeol down to some underground dancing clubs every now and then. Woohyun was always the honor student between them. That’s probably where he met Sunggyu, at one of his math-clubs or stupid shit he likes to participate in. Sunggyu looks like a nerd. It should be easy to suppress him with a hot boyfriend.
Sungyeol looks away from his sheet, because he wants to burn it.
Who’s this Sunggyu guy to boss him around, anyway? Maybe he wants to start the project first and then finish the math equations. Math sucks. Life sucks. What does Woohyun even finds in him? He looks like a hamster.
“Do you need some help?” Sunggyu offers when he notices Sungyeol’s stare.
“Not really,” he shrugs, before going back to the page. He tries to focus on the numbers.
Stupid Woohyun.
“Sungjong, calm down.” There’s people sitting somewhere beside them, the next table probably, whispering furiously between themselves.
“You can’t actually think we can hide here forever. They’re going to find us sooner or later. We need that money.”
“I’ll find money, alright? Just calm down! I have some savings…”
“Oh god, oh god, oh god, they’re going to kill us!”
“That enough. You’re driving me nuts. Let’s just think this through.”
Sungyeol clicks his tongue in anger. He’s seriously trying to concentrate here! Can’t they be quieter?
“Can’t you ask your parents or something?” The voices continue. Who cares about their stupid money? Sungyeol might just give it to them so they’ll shut up!
“Myungsoo, if my parents will find out that I’m involved with these guys they’re going to disown me!”
Sungyeol spins around on his chair; “Could you please be quieter? Some people actually came here to study!”
It’s that girly freshman, with the bleached hair. And that rude asshole, that bumped into him the other day. He’s wearing a cap, and he looks pissed off, but Sungyeol needs to vent out just as much.
“You really need to learn to mind your own business,” The guy immediately shots up, although his friend tugs his sleeve to sit back down.
“Why don’t you go discuss your financial problems somewhere else instead of the library?” Sungyeol stands up as well.
“You were eavesdropping as well?” He snorts, in this careless, bitter way, and Sungyeol really want to punch him.
“I don’t need to be eavesdropping, the whole library heard you loud and clear, asshole!”
“Yah, you have a death wish or something?” It’s kinda funny, how the guy knows he’s deep in shit for messing with someone older, and Sungyeol also has Hoya behind his back and he’s not even one bit scared of him. That’s it; he’s going to punch his pretty nose until he’ll dislocate it.
“Hey, hey.” Hoya comes between them, and pushes Sungyeol back. “Have you lost your mind?” He whispers to him, eyes wide with disbelief.
“We’re sorry, Sungyeol didn’t mean any harm-“
“Myungsoo’s sorry as well, right?” The other freshman glares at the guy with the cap, who crosses his hands on his chest.
“I don’t know who ‘we’ are, because I’m sure as hell not sorry.” Sungyeol crosses his hands on his chest as well.
“What the hell? Are you five?” Myungsoo bites back. What kind of a name is Myungsoo, anyway? Who calls their child Myungsoo?
“You should learn your place -“
“You’re going to call me a freshman again? You’re really childish-“
“Who are you calling childish?!” Hoya needs to hold him back again.
“That’s enough.” Sunggyu looks really uncomfortable when he steps between them. “Why don’t we just go study in my class-room? It’s empty right now.”
Who the hell made him the authority? Sungyeol wants to study right here, and be uninterrupted. Is that really that hard in the library?
He takes his notebooks and storms out.
Hoya’s first to join him.
“Are you insane? You scared the hell out of them! Not to mention the whole library was staring at you.”
“Oh please, that asshole barely flinched. Did you saw how he glared at me? They were making so much noise; even the people in the second floor heard them!”
“I didn’t hear them,”
“Yeah, well, you were busy with Sunggyu,” It’s probably the way he seethes out the name, because Hoya furrows his eyebrows.
“What’s wrong with Sunggyu? He’s really nice, and Woohyun really likes him.”
“I’m sure that Woohyun loves all about him,”
“What the hell is wrong with you? Lately your mood swings and you’re behaving like a lunatic! If this is about Woohyun you should just accept that he--” Hoya looks serious all of sudden.
And Sungyeol wants to spill it out to someone. To tell him that he’s in pain, and that Woohyun hurt him, but just then Sunggyu finally catches up with them; “Ready to go?”
“Yeah,” Hoya gives Sungyeol a warning glare, but Sungyeol hugs his books to himself.
“Something came up, so I’m going home.”
∽
Hoya calls him three times, and then sends an ominous message telling him that he has anger problems and should go see a shrink.
Then in the evening, Woohyun finally sends a message; “Sunggyu told me you started a fight in the library. Is everything okay?”
He’s so tempted to reply, but before he can, his brother lands on him heavily, and Sungyeol chokes on his breath. “Get up!” He hoarsely pleads; “Get up! You’re heavy!”
Daeyeol cackles with laughter as he takes the remote control from Sungyeol’s limp hand.
“Suits you right.” He snickers and flips through the channels until he stops at some stupid chick flick.
“Are you seriously going to watch this?”
Daeyeol shrugs.
“Just to piss me off?” He continues.
“My girlfriend been on and on about this show and made me watch it… and turns out it’s not that bad.”
Figures his little brother will get absorbed into stuff like that.
“Aw, you have a girlfriend… how cute.” Sungyeol ruffles his hair.
“At least it’s not a boyfriend.”
Sungyeol punches his arm, though doesn’t deny anything, and Daeyeol hits him back.
“What’s it about, anyway?”
“Well, it’s about this girl, who buys a boyfriend online, and he’s a machine or something like that-“
Then it hits him; like lightening in a bright day. Like the apple fall on Einstein’s head. Or was it Newton’s head?
“What did you say?”
“I said that he’s a machine of some kind… like a robot, so then she --”
“No, before that.”
“That it’s about a girl…?” Daeyeol looks on him strangely.
“After that!”
“That she buys a boyfriend online…?”
“Yes! Yes! That’s perfect!”
He runs up the stairs to his room and slams the door. He hears his little brother yelling; “Mom, Sungyeol’s going to buy a boyfriend online!”
Grunting, he picks up his laptop.
He has money. He has more than enough money, actually. Thankfully he was blessed with a wealthy family; his mom always pampered him with everything he ever wanted. He also has more than enough allowance and saving of his own, since he worked part-time every holiday for Hoya’s dad, and Hoya’s dad pampered both him and his son with a very nice salary, although all they did was to chill in the office and prank call people they knew from the office phone.
A quick search online makes him lose the idea to actually buy an actual escort.
The sites; “Buy A Korean rent-boy; TONIGHT” and “Male Escorts to Every Door” showed bulky, tanned men that look scary and really nude.
Sungyeol feels like his innocent eyes are now tainted forever and also deletes his history, just in case. Somehow this makes all the porn on his computer feel like cartoons for children.
It’s not like Woohyun would actually believe Sungyeol found somebody outside of school, anyway.
He needed someone from their surroundings.
He rules out coming up to nice looking boys from his grade and asking them to be his boyfriend for payment. As if he’s not enough of a gossip attraction with his height, last thing he needs is more weird rumors popping out.
It needs to be someone desperate for money. His school is built in a nice neighborhood and mostly rich people like him attend it, so it definitely narrows down the choices. Practically to zero.
Unfortunately, he has just the guy in his head. It feels like he’s been there all that time, with that smug expression on his face.
He buries his face in his pillow. “I am going to regret this.”
∽
It’s not difficult to locate the rude freshman in the cafeteria.
If not pestered by his blonde friend, he sits by the table alone, earphones in his ears. His haircut is neat and sleek. A poker-face on his boyish features. He might’ve looked real bad-ass, but he drinks his vitamin water with a straw, which seriously kills the mood.
Nonetheless, flocks of girls who pass by, squeal and giggle while glancing at him.
Sungyeol dumps his lunchbox on the table, before sitting down.
That sure gets Myungsoo’s attention. He glares at him.
Sungyeol waits for him to pluck his earphones off so he could start a conversation, but Myungsoo makes no such thing. They stare at each other for a few good minutes until Sungyeol snaps and tears the earphones off him.
Myungsoo snatches them from his hand, clicking his tongue. “I’m not in the mood for a fight, please leave. Thank you.” His tone is cold and robotic, as if he’s repeating it after someone.
Sungyeol wants to just say it out loud already, after planning it all night, but the words flutter away and he suddenly doesn’t know what to say. It’s weird and seriously embarrassing to ask something like that, especially from someone who is a definite asshole. But a handsome asshole. Which makes him better than Woohyun.
“Look, I really need you to-“
“I’m not in the mood for a fight, please leave. Thank you.”
“Alright, okay, I’m not aiming for a fight, I just want-“
“I’m not in the mood for a fight, please leave. Thank you.”
“Could you please stop being annoying for one second?” He snaps again.
Myungsoo slurps from his vitamin water, amused; “I’m not in the mood for a fight, please leave. Thank you.”
Sungyeol wants to rip his hairs from his scalp.
Fine, screw his plans of gently persuading him into it.
“You need quick money, right?”
He stills visibly, his smirk finally leaving his face.
“Well, I have money.”
He doesn’t say anything yet. His eyes are really intense. Almost bottomless. Sungyeol starts to feel a little uneasy.
“And I can pay you up. A large sum.”
“How large?”
“Depends on your cooperation.”
Myungsoo sighs, but Sungyeol relaxes; he’s definitely going to agree if he really needs that money.
“Alright. What do I have to do?”
“Pretty easy,” Sungyeol smirks. “Be my boyfriend.”

Okay, that's it for today!
