Summary: Not everything is as it seems, and for those who are as far from normal as you can get, life is a bleak existence.  The only ones who can truly understand what these individuals go through are those...just like them.
A/N: This is an ongoing roleplay between myself and Carey (renichifreak  ).  I play KyuJong and she plays YoungSaeng, and this is our logs jammed together xD  Special appearance by the wonderful mi_iseul as MyungDae, thank you so much bb~!!!! <3333

KyuJong waited outside YoungSaeng's last class of the day for his boyfriend, leaned against the wall as the other students left the class. Ever since he and his roommate had started going out together, KyuJong couldn't have been happier. Even if there was no guarantee his feelings were returned, every moment with YoungSaeng was worth it.

Class had been rather boring as the teacher droned on and on and on, which allowed YoungSaeng a lot of time to think. His thoughts, however, seemed to always revolve around KyuJong.

Since the older boy's confession, he'd thought about his feelings long and hard, but always faltered at the same wall. It was hard to know what love was when you didn't know it yourself. He felt the stereotypical signs, as well as more, but he just wasn't sure.

Once class had ended, YoungSaeng was slow to pack up, allowing the other students to leave the classroom. Finally, he rose and walked out, only to be met by the exact person who occupied his thoughts.

When his boyfriend appeared after all the other students had already left the class, KyuJong smiled. "How was class?" he asked, adjusting his grip on his books slightly. He had to go to a rehearsal with his acting class, but KyuJong had wanted to see YoungSaeng first. There had hardly been a moment outside of classes the two weren't seen together, though KyuJong never kissed the younger boy in public, or held him for too long. He didn't want the other students to notice and give his boyfriend a hard time; same-sex relationships weren't exactly well-received in high schools.

"Hey, it wasn't bad. Yours?" YoungSaeng asked, slowly leaning close. He appreciated that KyuJong allowed him his space in public, but he still found ways to show his affection for KyuJong.

"Same as usual," KyuJong replied, resisting the temptation to wrap one arm around YoungSaeng in a hug and settling for just shifting a bit closer to him. The way YoungSaeng leaned a little closer as well made his smile widen slightly. "More projects and homework."

He'd seen the vice-principals about changing his free block, and after a bit of negotiating he was able to take his free block the same time as YoungSaeng. It had mixed up his courses somewhat, though thankfully his classes with YoungSaeng as well as acting, by far his three favorite classes by now, had remained the same.

"I have to attend rehearsal for a bit," he said, looking at his watch. It was just about time to leave. "The people I'm acting with are trying to get us as much rehearsal time as possible...do you think you'll be able to watch the play at the end of semester?" he asked hopefully. KyuJong knew crowds were a big issue for YoungSaeng, but he hoped his boyfriend would be able to attend the play.

YoungSaeng smiled slightly, nodding his head. "I wouldn't miss it for the world, Kyu-yah," he replied as they began walking.

KyuJong grinned, content. "Thanks." He walked along beside YoungSaeng, happy. His acting was one thing he was confident in, and he was excited to show his boyfriend.

He stopped outside his acting class, hearing voices already inside. "It shouldn't be too long, we have only one part to go over," he commented.

YoungSaeng nodded, smiling still. He loved how passionate his boyfriend was about his acting. "I can wait in the hall. I have some homework to work on anyway. I want to be surprised when I see your performance."

"Alright," KyuJong nodded. Looking around the momentarily quiet hallway, he reached out and gently squeezed YoungSaeng's hand. "I'll see you in a bit then." Smiling, he let go of the younger boy's hand and walked into the classroom, placing his books in a corner and joining the small group of students in the middle of the room.

Smiling and returning the squeeze to his hand, YoungSaeng watched KyuJong enter the auditorium before he took a seat on the floor and pulled out his Japanese homework.

Having watched the pair from a safe vantage point, MyungDae followed them at a discreet distance and smirked as KyuJong left YoungSaeng all alone outside the acting studio. What a stupid guy, leaving YoungSaeng like that, alone and looking so...delicious.

Walking over and standing just in front of where YoungSaeng appeared to be doing homework, MyungDae's smirk widened. "You're all alone," he grinned, enjoying the expression on the other boy's face. "It's just too tempting to resist, so I'm not going to bother..."

He pretended to look around. "Where's that room-mate of yours?"

YoungSaeng was so focused on the assignment before him that he never noticed the person approach until he spoke. Freezing, he dropped his pencil, slowly looking up, only to see the last person he ever wanted to see, especially when he was alone. "Wh-what do you want?" he whispered, scared of the man before him.

MyungDae laughed and bent down to pull YoungSaeng up by his arms. "Isn't it obvious?" he smirked, licking his lips at the expression of terror on YoungSaeng’s face.

YoungSaeng released a quiet cry as he was forced up, the grip on his arms painful. That look in his eyes. It was one he'd seen before; the last time he'd been grabbed by him. "Leave me alone...why can't you just leave me alone?"

"Why should I leave you alone?" MyungDae countered slyly. "You're just too hot to leave alone like that. Especially since that idiot KyuJong left you all alone, here in the hallway. Doesn't he know how tempting that is?" As he spoke, one of his hands wandered YoungSaeng’s body and settled at the front of his trousers, the feeling of power he held over the terrified boy making something spark in MyungDae's eyes.

"And I'm not one to say no to temptation..."

Terrified, YoungSaeng tried backing away, only to find himself pressed against the wall behind him. Opening his mouth to yell for KyuJong, nothing came out. Tears filled his eyes at the feel of a rough hand at the waist of his pants.

Tired of waiting for what he wanted, MyungDae's hand slid roughly into YoungSaeng’s trousers, caressing him surprisingly gently. "You can't tell me you don't want this too, YoungSaeng," he purred, moving to kiss the side of YoungSaeng’s neck.

Whimpering at the unwanted touch, YoungSaeng tried desperately to break free of the hold. Not this. He couldn't handle this. "Please...please stop," he forced out through his tears. KyuJong. He needed KyuJong...

Unable to stop himself, MyungDae pulled back and laughed low in his throat. "Why would I want to do something like that? I'm enjoying it..." he chuckled, the caresses turning rougher. "You would be too if you would just forget about that loser and relax a bit."

"I-stop, stop, stop," YoungSaeng begged, voice getting a bit louder. He couldn't let this happen. He needed it to stop. Needed him to stop. "KyuJong," he pleaded, needing the man more now than ever. "KyuJong KyuJong KyuJong," he chanted like a mantra tasting saline. Finally, at the feel of MyungDae using more force, managed to scream, "KYU-YAH!"

KyuJong cut himself off mid-sentence at the scream from outside the classroom, his blood running cold. YoungSaeng? "What was that?" frowned one of his classmates but KyuJong was already running to the door, acting forgotten.

As YoungSaeng began calling out for KyuJong, MyungDae became angry. "Shut up," he said furiously, almost shaking YoungSaeng when he refused to stop and his voice became louder. "SHUT UP!"

When that didn't stop him, he slapped YoungSaeng across the face with his free hand, his eyes snapping with anger. "Stop calling for that no-good KyuJong. He's not going to help you..."

Leaving the classroom, KyuJong froze, eyes wide. His boyfriend was pinned against the wall by the bully from before...with one hand down Saeng's pants and the other hand extended from a slap.

Fury exploded through him and he ran to them. "Get the hell away from him!" KyuJong shouted, doing the first thing that came to mind when he saw the tears down YoungSaeng's cheeks and punching MyungDae hard in the face.

MyungDae reeled back from the punch, his nose bleeding and his eyes watering. "Oh, if it isn't your little loverboy, come to save his princess," he taunted, pulling YoungSaeng closer and fondling him rougher than he had before. "You're too late. He's mine..."

YoungSaeng clenched his eyes shut, releasing an odd sound as he was pulled closer, the man's touch even rougher than before.

KyuJong clenched his teeth, angrier than he could ever remember being. How dare this person touch YoungSaeng? "Let GO!" He hit MyungDae again, trying to push him away from YoungSaeng. "Saeng, move!" His classmates appeared in the doorway, staring at the scene in the hallway.

YoungSaeng nearly cried in relief when he was released, but it was short lived as he was again pulled back against the man, one arm wrapped tightly around his waist, pinning his arms down, and the other caressing his face. "Kyu..." he whispered, barely audible, even by his own standard.

The inaudible whisper sent stabs of pain through him. YoungSaeng was terrified out of his wits, how could someone take advantage of him like this???

"What part of 'let go' do you not understand?" KyuJong snapped. Grabbing the hand around YoungSaeng's waist, he bent the index finger as far back as he could, not caring if he broke the man's finger as long as he let go. Stepping close, he stamped down hard on MyungDae's foot, pushing him.

Giving a yelp of pain, MyungDae stumbled back, glaring at KyuJong as he was forced to let go of his precious would-be lover. "You left him alone, KyuJong," he taunted.

"That makes it open season on schizo Saengie." His tone was almost sing-song-y as he taunted them both. "He's mine..."

The second YoungSaeng was out of that man's grasp, KyuJong pulled the younger boy against him, holding on to him. His hands shook from anger, barely managing to contain himself from trying to hurt MyungDae more. Not only had this man molested his boyfriend and tormented him, he was calling YoungSaeng schizophrenic, and KyuJong's classmates were right there.

"He is not yours," KyuJong ground out. "He belongs to himself, I'll break every single one of your fingers before you come near him again." He had to get YoungSaeng away from this monster. Taking YoungSaeng's hand, he pulled his boyfriend down the hallway, away from MyungDae.

The moment YoungSaeng realized that he was no longer in that man's hold, but KyuJong's comforting one, he clung to him, burying his face in the crook of his boyfriend's neck. He was unable to control the tremors taking over his body as the tears continued to fall. He heard nothing but the sound of his own rapid heartbeat, simply refusing to let go of KyuJong, even as he began pulling him down the hallway.

He did, however, manage to take one look behind him at the man who had just tried to-Shaking his head, YoungSaeng allowed himself to be led away.

Hardly able to believe what had just happened, KyuJong didn't look back at MyungDae, knowing he wouldn't be able to control himself if he did. There were wet spots on his shirt from where YoungSaeng's tears had landed, anger burning under his skin at what that man had done to YoungSaeng while he wasn't there.

If only he had been there-

Turning the corner, KyuJong had barely processed the thought when a familiar chilling sensation ran through his body, spreading to YoungSaeng through their joined hands. There was a sharp tug forward, and he felt his feet leave the ground for a split second...no, the ground vanish from under his feet. The world blurred out around him.

Then suddenly it all came back, the floor solid under his feet and his vision returning. KyuJong stumbled slightly, eyes widening. He'd time-jumped.

And from the warm hand held tightly in his own, he'd taken YoungSaeng with him.

MyungDae went to follow them, again at a distance and ignoring the curious stares of KyuJong’s classmates, only to stop and stare as the hallway the pair had disappeared down was...empty.

Wondering what the hell had just happened, he glanced around, thinking perhaps they'd gone into a classroom, but came up empty-handed. Just where had they gone?

Still clutching to KyuJong, YoungSaeng gasped as he felt everything-the ground included-give out, only to return a moment later. He fell to the ground, miraculously still holding KyuJong's hand, and looked around in shock. His insides felt as if he had ridden a roller coaster over and over again.

Turning wide eyes to KyuJong, he asked, "Wh-what...what just happened, Kyu-yah?"

KyuJong turned back to YoungSaeng and crouched down beside him. There was no clock in the hallway so he couldn't tell what time it was, only that they'd gone forwards in time. It was a different sensation when he was pushed backwards. At least the hallway was empty still.

Hearing the question, he opened his mouth to answer, but couldn't think of the words. Swallowing, he gently brushed locks of hair out of YoungSaeng's eyes, fingers framing his face. "Are you alright?" he whispered.

Even through the adrenaline from the confrontation, he could feel a sudden wave of exhaustion crashing down on him. His hands, already shaking from anger, started to shake for entirely different reasons. He'd never pulled someone through time with him before, and his body was feeling the effects.

YoungSaeng flinched as the fingers brushed his still forming bruise. Blinking as the shock of whatever had just happened faded, he stared wide-eyed at KyuJong as everything hit him all at once all over again.

"H-h-he just t-tried to-” It was then that the shaking started up again, and he then noticed that the tears had never stopped.

Seeing YoungSaeng start to shake again, KyuJong shifted closer, gently pulling his boyfriend into his arms. He ran his hand along the younger boy's back, eyes shut as he forced back the exhaustion, only to be stabbed with guilt and anger again.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left you alone," he whispered, fingers curling into the fabric of YoungSaeng's shirt. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry..."

Holding onto KyuJong for dear life, YoungSaeng tried desperately to tell him that it wasn't his fault, but he couldn't. He felt his throat close from the force of the sobs that finally broke through.

All he could do was hold onto the only person in the world who made him feel safe.

Feeling YoungSaeng's body shake from the sobs, KyuJong settled on the floor without caring where they were, pulling YoungSaeng into his lap. He let the younger boy cry, rubbing his back and brushing locks of hair out of his face, careful not to touch the bruise he could see forming. He pressed his lips gently against his boyfriend's forehead, vowing to never let YoungSaeng out of his sights again.

YoungSaeng couldn't remember crying so hard since he had been placed in the hospital. He felt filthy and used and just so...violated. All he wanted to do was take the longest shower ever and wash away the whole event.

In the back of his frantic mind, he knew that he should ask about what had just happened, but he was completely unable to think rationally at the moment.

Holding on to YoungSaeng, KyuJong was grateful that the hallway continued to remain empty, but who knew how long that would last.

Opening his eyes after a while, he blinked several times when the corners of his vision remained black. That was not good. Closing his eyes against the wave of dizziness, he waited for YoungSaeng to recover, biting the inside of his cheek to stop himself from spacing out too much. A gentle tune left his lips, as that seemed to usually help his boyfriend calm down, rubbing his back in slow circles.

As the quiet singing helped to reign in his rattled nerves, YoungSaeng picked up on something wrong. "K-Kyu-yah? KyuJong, what's wrong?" he asked, voice hoarse from crying.

KyuJong opened his eyes again, trying to keep focused. "Nothing, just thinking that for his sake he better never come near you again," he murmured, gently kissing YoungSaeng's forehead. Even as his boyfriend's shaking lessened slightly, his own had yet to stop.

He pulled back a little so he could look into YoungSaeng's eyes. Except he was having trouble focusing. "Think you're all right to head to our room?" he questioned softly.

YoungSaeng’s shaking had all but stopped in light of his worry for his boyfriend, who was the one shaking now. "Kyu, please. Tell me what's wrong? This isn't normal," he pleaded, helping KyuJong to his feet so they could go to their room.

He was still unsteady, but he would manage. KyuJong had been taking care of him, so it was only fair that the elder allow him to take care of him now.

How ironic, his boyfriend had just been molested and suddenly KyuJong was the one who needed help? If KyuJong had never hated his Gift's horrible timing before, he did now. He should be helping YoungSaeng right now, not the other way around.

He wanted to tell YoungSaeng that yes, this was normal, and he shouldn't worry, but his voice seemed to finally fail him and all he could do was shake his head. Once he was on his feet another wave of dizziness hit him and he placed one hand against the wall beside him before he could fall back over. When the dizziness passed he took YoungSaeng's hand gently, heading towards their dorms. Or where he hoped their dorms were anyways; his already shaky sense of direction was practically useless now.

YoungSaeng yelped as KyuJong staggered, using the wall to keep his balance. Allowing the man to lean against him, he helped his boyfriend toward their room after carefully turning him around to head in the correct direction.

"Don't worry, Kyu-yah...we'll be there soon, okay?" he said, not sure who he was reassuring-KyuJong, or himself.

KyuJong tried not to rely on his boyfriend too much, walking more-or-less by himself. But his vision was rapidly decreasing, and after a while he stopped trying to focus on the area around them, keeping his head down.

Hearing YoungSaeng's reassuring words, and dismayed by how far away his boyfriend sounded even though he was right there, he nodded. "I'm sorry," was all he could say, voice much quieter than normal.

YoungSaeng simply stared at KyuJong. "Sorry? Why are you sorry?"

He was worried to death about his boyfriend. He could just see his energy drain from his body.

A soft sigh left his lips, KyuJong quickly becoming frustrated at his sudden lack of energy. Now was not the time, but the more he tried to push his exhaustion away and focus on what was going on around him the more it hurt. He kept himself walking through sheer force of will; if he stopped now it would be harder to start walking again.

"I should've been there to protect you," he explained, his accent coming through due to lack of focus. "And now...this." he shook his head slightly, only to discover that was a very bad move when the world span slightly.

"But you did, Kyu-yah," YoungSaeng argued. "You stopped him, and I don't think I could ever thank you enough." His nerves were still shot and all he wanted to do was break down, but he forced himself to hold it together for KyuJong as he tightened his grip. "We're almost there. Just hold on a few more minutes," he pleaded.

"He shouldn't have even had the chance to get anywhere near you," KyuJong replied, but that was all he could say as his voice gave out again a second later. Closing his eyes tightly for a moment, he opened them and kept walking.

He'd never thought he'd be thankful to see the usual students running through the hallways outside their room, but he was.

YoungSaeng sighed in relief as they reached their room. Unlocking the door, he quickly helped the exhausted man inside and to his bed. Carefully helping him lie down, he ran and closed the door, locking it.

On his way back, he caught a glimpse of himself and started. His normally well maintained hair was disheveled and his shirt was stretched a bit. His loose pants were resting far too low on his hips and the bruise on his cheek was growing more and more prominent.

Closing his eyes, YoungSaeng returned to his boyfriend's side, running long pianist's fingers through the soft hair.

Once he was lying down on the bed, KyuJong fought to stay conscious. As YoungSaeng went to lock the door, he glanced at the clock next to their beds, concentrating hard to read it.

10 minutes, his Gift supplied. They'd jumped ahead in time by 10 minutes. Looking at the watch around his wrist, KyuJong didn't have to focus on the numbers to see the device had stopped working...at the precise moment they'd made the jump.

His eyes closing, KyuJong drew in a shaky breath. When he felt gentle fingers in his hair, he forced his eyes open again, blinking at YoungSaeng. "We should get something for that bruise," he managed to get out. He wasn't able to get up though, just barely shifting over to the other side of the bed so YoungSaeng could join him.

YoungSaeng hesitated before slowly climbing into bed. He hated that he was so tense, but he tried desperately to relax, and soon he felt it happen, losing himself in the familiar feelings and sensations that he related to KyuJong.

"Don't worry about me, Kyu-yah. Right now, please worry about yourself."

Feeling YoungSaeng join him on the bed more than he saw it, KyuJong lifted one arm and gently wrapped it around his boyfriend's waist, feeling the tension in his body. He wished he could do something, say something that would help YoungSaeng recover, but he could just barely stay conscious.

"I'll always worry about you," he murmured. "I love you."

He seemed about to say something else, but his body finally gave up and his eyes closed, staying that way.

Watching KyuJong slowly slip off to sleep, YoungSaeng smiled and rested his head against the older boy's chest. "I don't think I'm brave enough to say this to you when you're awake yet...but I love you, too..."

After everything that had happened, and feeling the deep concern and protectiveness and worry...and the caring and gentleness, he was sure that he was right about this.

KyuJong's fingers curled into the fabric of YoungSaeng's shirt slightly, the only reaction from the older boy before he was out cold. He wouldn't remember YoungSaeng's words after.

********************

The worst wasn't over. The more time that passed, KyuJong’s condition seemed to gradually worsen. It became more and more difficult for him to breathe, a rattling in his chest whenever he drew in air. Eventually color did return to his suddenly pale skin but it was too much, his body warming up with fever and shivers racking his frame. Sometimes he seemed close to waking up, stirring a little, but then he'd just fall unconscious again.

Even jumping only ten minutes had been too much. The stress and anger from seeing his boyfriend molested like that, coupled with the fact he hadn't been prepared for the jump and had no chance to perform it properly, as well as taking YoungSaeng along with him...it was wrecking havoc on his body.

YoungSaeng didn't know what to do. Not once had he left his boyfriend's side. Every gasp for breath stole a bit of his own and the feverish flush opposed the draining of color in his own cheeks.

He hadn't slept much since KyuJong had fallen ill, either. Between his worry and the nightmares of what had happened, he wasn't far from joining his boyfriend in being sick.

He didn't care, though. He just needed to know that KyuJong was okay. That was all that mattered to him right now.

KyuJong was completely out of it, unaware of the passing time as his body tried to recover from overtaxing itself. The only thing that registered in those brief moments where he was almost conscious was that YoungSaeng was still there, still beside him.

Finally his breathing evened out somewhat, for a brief moment, his fingers curling slightly. Then a shiver ran through him, a choked gasp that was cut off because he suddenly wasn't there anymore. The bed beside YoungSaeng was empty.

YoungSaeng's eyes flew open when the person against him was suddenly gone. "NO!" he shouted, heart racing. Shooting to his feet, he began looking around frantically.

"KyuJong?! Kyu-yah!" he cried, inching that much closer to a full-blown panic attack. How-he'd been right beside him, then vanished into thin air...

Unable to think clearly, YoungSaeng did something he'd never done. Eyes going black, he pushed his thoughts out, knowing that any spirit on campus would hear. "Please help me find him!"
