A/N: Sorry for taking so long! I hope you guys will like this chapter ^.^ I'm going to be going away for a small vacation soon, but I'll try my best to get another entry up before I do, and it's not a long vacation so you guys will hardly know I was gone ^.^

KyuHyun didn’t show up at school the next day. When asked about it, YeSung told DongHae that KyuHyun called him and said he was staying with RyeoWook for the day, and that the doctors was coming to check up on him. Apparently the boy’s fever had gotten worse through the night, and though he spent most of the time sleeping, he was prone to nightmares that on occasion even KyuHyun’s presence couldn’t prevent. The nightmares ranged from memories of the accident, and his sisters death, to KyuHyun leaving him or being eaten by monsters. No matter which it was, it always left the small boy breathless and traumatized when he woke up.

“Can we go visit them later?” DongHae asked. “I think I know where they live…”

“I can’t go,” HyukJae put in. “I’m working tonight, since KyuHyun called in to say he wasn’t coming.” YeSung and SungMin also shook their heads, saying they were busy as well, though they’d call to check up on their little friend.

DongHae looked so depressed that KiBum, who had only been listening so far, spoke up. “I’ll visit them with you,” He said softly. Hae brightened instantly, the goofy grin on his face making KiBum smile faintly as well. “Yay, thank you KiBummie!” Then to the younger boy’s surprise DongHae pounced on him with a large bear hug, knocking him over. For one dizzying moment he was looking straight into those big brown eyes inches away from him, and feeling the faint whisper of the older boys’ breath on his cheek, then DongHae released him again, still grinning like a buffoon. KiBum sat up again, promptly picking up the book he had dropped and hiding his red face from the others. Thank goodness HeeChul - who had taken to hanging out with them when the mood was on him - had vanished to god-knows-where, or he’d be giving KiBum no end of torment.

Where exactly had HeeChul gone? To torment SiWon of course. They’d known each other since junior high, and personality-wise they were opposites. HeeChul was loud, conceited, and was the center of any party, while SiWon was gentlemanly, modest, and part of the student council. They’d never really been friends, but HeeChul found SiWon so completely different from himself that he made it his personal mission to drag the role-model student to the dark side. He flirted endlessly with him - though SiWon explained patiently time and time again he was not interested in guys - and tended to drag the younger male around town whenever they bumped into each other. He also invited SiWon to every one of the parties he hosted.

And that goody-two-shoes had the nerve to decline his invitation. Again.

So a more-than-slightly-ticked HeeChul went looking to see where SiWon had gotten to. He had even looked in the library, a place he avoided at all costs. No SiWon. He cornered HanKyung outside, who tried to explain in faltering Korean that he had no idea where SiWon was, he hadn’t seen him all day.

“Aish, where did that pabo get to…” HeeChul grumbled, finally heading down to the room they had reserved for the dance club at lunch time. SiWon had been the one to get it for them; being on the student council meant he had tons of ties to important staff members. And since he was such a good student, the teacher he had asked had been more than happy to lend them his classroom during lunch hours, as long as they didn’t make too much of a mess.

Sliding open the door, HeeChul was startled to see SiWon there, practicing. He was doing one of H.O.T.’s old routines, and judging from the sweat slipping down the side of his face he’d been here for a while.

It was clear he was deeply into doing the routine right, but HeeChul had never been one to take such concentration into consideration. “Yah! I’ve been looking all over for you!” He came into the room. SiWon stopped and turned to face him, startled. “Oh, HeeChul sshi.”

“Aish, why are you so formal all the time?” HeeChul asked. “Nevermind. Why are you here instead of in that library as usual?”

“Well, I guess that since I’m part of the dance club, I should improve a bit, right?” He looked down at the floor, wincing a bit. “Unfortunately, I’ll need a lot more improvement to keep up with the others.”

HeeChul rolled his eyes. “Perfectionist. That’s not the reason I’m here. I want to know just what reason you had for refusing to come to my party, AGAIN. You haven’t come to one yet, you know that?”

SiWon met HeeChul’s gaze with a soft sigh. “It’s just not something I like to do, HeeChul sshi.”

“Oh, so you LIKE to spend your entire life up to your eyeballs in schoolwork? Afraid to lose your good reputation?”

“That’s not it…”

“Then show me. Come to this one party, and if you can honestly tell me after that it’s something you’ll never do again, then I’ll leave you alone.” That was as close to compromising that HeeChul was going to get. It was actually quite a feat for him. SiWon looked at the stubborn male tiredly, then nodded.

“… Alright. When’s the party?”

HeeChul smirked. Victory. Once he got people to come to his parties, they never wanted to leave. It had never really been a gamble to begin with. “This Friday. Nine o’clock sharp. Don’t be late.” He winked at the taller boy. “Even sweaty you still look hot.” And then he pranced out of the room.

“Is this they’re place?” DongHae asked KiBum, looking up at the apartment building. In the end they had been the only two to come, not that KiBum minded. It posed another problem though; the usually silent boy had to try putting up a conversation with the Fish (His new nickname. Hae told them a story of where he tried to catch a fish with his hands when he was little and ended up in the pond, and the name just stuck.), instead of just admiringexamining the happy-go-lucky boy from the back of the group as usual. And he kept finding it hard to recover his train of thought whenever DongHae stretched a bit and his shirt lifted slightly, or when he’d give KiBum that quirky smile that made the younger’s insides tingle, or… And he was doing it again.

Shaking his head to clear away the thoughts that were definitely not supposed to be there, he replied, “Yeah, this is it. They live a few floors up.” He’d been here once to work on a project with RyeoWook, and since he had a very good memory the route just stuck.

They took the elevator up, and soon were standing outside KyuWook’s door. DongHae knocked with a bit more excitement than necessary, and the door was opened a few seconds later. “Hae? Is that you?” KyuHyun blinked when he saw KiBum standing there too. “Oh, KiBum sshi? You came too?”

KiBum couldn’t really blame KyuHyun for being surprised. They weren’t really close or anything. So instead of answering, he asked softly, “How is he?”

“Oh…” kyuHyun’s eyes saddened a bit. “He’s still got a very high fever. The doctors came this afternoon, and said he’d be back tonight to check on him again. He thinks it’s just a normal fever, and that the accident messed up RyeoWook’s immune system so it’s affecting him much more than usual. I mean, he was always horrible with fevers to begin with, but now it’s twice as bad.”

He let them him. DongHae would have bounced off to see RyeoWook right away, but KyuHyun’s words of “He’s sleeping, so be quiet,” calmed him down a bit. The group went silently to the boy’s room; it seemed RyeoWook slept in the same room as KyuHyun now, KiBum noted.

The small boy was curled up underneath the covers, shivering a bit in his sleep despite the amount of blankets on top of him. Even DongHae could see Wookie was having trouble breathing, and every now and then would stir restlessly, either knocking the blankets away or pulling them closer. It was depressing to see the boy in this kind of situation.

“I hope he gets better soon,” KiBum said softly as KyuHyun led them to the living room. KyuHyun nodded, then his attention was distracted by a small knock on the door. “That must be the doctor.”

“So you’ll want us to leave them,” KiBum deducted.

“I’m sorry…”

“It’s okay. We’ll see you at school?” KiBum and DongHae said a quick goodbye to KyuHyun, slipping past the doctor as he came in. It was a short visit, but neither of them minded, since the visit had obviously uplifted KyuHyun’s spirits a bit.

“Thank you for coming with me, KiBummie,” DongHae said cheerfully when they were outside. They lived in different directions, so they had to part ways here.

“No problem,” KiBum said. Then he froze as DongHae gave him a large hug again, their bodies crushed together. He could feel the others breathe again his neck, the sensation driving him mad. He hugged DongHae back, swallowing. “H-Hae… I…”

“KiBummie’s such a good friend!” DongHae said brightly, releasing the younger boy. “And you’re so cute too! You’ll be at school tomorrow, right?”

KiBum forced a small smile. “Right.”

“Okay! I see you tomorrow then!” And he walked off. KiBum watched him until he turned the corner and vanished from sight. Then he turned and walked away, pulling his headphones on and turning up the music loud. Maybe that way he could ignore the sound of his heart breaking in two.
