slight luhan/sehun; hinted luhan/yang fan
pg-13; general, crossover
A heart thumps, eyes flicker, and breathing ceases for a second when a body enters Luhan's line of vision. He can make out a familiar face from the boy's ivory skin, and even the auburn mop of hair on his head is the same. Sehun. The younger boy trails around the backstage of the music stage for awhile, the metal accessories adorning his neck and wrists jingling softly with each stride. Luhan lamely lifts an arm in a subconscious effort to reach out to him; duizhang at the side places a giant hand on his knuckles and pats his shoulder. "Pay attention, we're gonna be up in a couple of songs," Kris says in a quiet voice. Luhan nods, but his attention diverts to Sehun again.
What is he even doing here? Luhan thinks to himself. "Duizhang..."
Kris tilts his head in an effort to hear Luhan better. "Duizhang, what is Sehun-"
Luhan watches the Korean maknae disappear into a crowd of coordinators and stagehands. He reappears again in the arms of an unknown Chinese man--similarly clad in the same apparel. "What?"
Luhan looks away and up at Kris with a shake of the head, "Uh, nothing."
"Whatever you say, ge."
-Shoot anonymous, anonymous. Heartless, mindless. No one who care about me.
The members stumble off of the stage in a hurry and are greeted by several seniors on their way out, to whom they give countless repetitions of 90° bows to. That was a good run. Yeah, no doubt about it. That was some damn ugly winking, duizhang. Yixing, shut your mouth before I do it for you. You did good out there Xiumin-ge. You too, Taozi. God, I'm exhausted. Their tired laughs and blunt remarks to each other are drowned out by the frantic murmurs backstage-rookies who are preparing for their debut into the industry, seniors ready to lash at the audience with hard-hitting comebacks.
The group is given a short period of rest as the managers arrange the vans. The members are sprawled quite comfortably around their dressing room with Kris leaning coolly against one of the walls, Yixing and Minseok slouching lazily across the loveseat, Zitao propping himself against one of the armrests of the loveseat, and Jongdae seated in another chair in the room. Luhan plays with the tassles on his shirt before dropping his hands to his sides and making for the door.
"I'm going to get a snack, I'll be back in a bit," he tells the others as he walks out. Get me something too! A tired Minseok shouts from behind.
Luhan treads over to a nearby vending machine, tapping on the glass while eyeing the bagged snacks tucked tightly between metal springs and coils. He decides on a small bag of hard cookies. He instinctively reaches for his wallet stowed away in his back pocket but his hands only brush against the smooth texture of his designer pants. Oh yeah, he thinks bitterly, I left my things in the car.
He lets out somewhat of a sigh of defeat and places his hands on his hips. His gaze on the snacks are broken when Sehun strolls inside the area-his pretty face focused on the dirty screen of his iPhone. Luhan breaks into a smile and beckons to the younger boy in Korean, "Sehun-ah! Help out your hyung and spot him some cash so he can buy some cookies."
Sehun's head flicks up; his face contorts into an expression of confusion and puzzlement, "Excuse me?" He replies in accented Korean.
Luhan's smile falters for a bit. He doesn't remember Sehun's voice being so.. masculine and husky. And upon further examination, he swears Sehun's eyebrows were never as thick and defined nor was his jaw so sharp and wide. In fact, Sehun looked at lot more like Edison Chen at the moment than his regular self.
Sehun's initial coldness vanishes when his lips pull back into a grin.
"Oh! You're from that Korean group EXO-M, right?" He exclaims in perfect Mandarin. He takes a quick glance at Luhan and then the vending machine before laughing, "You need some help or something? The money slots are lettered in Chinese, so I doubt you can read it."
Luhan's reply comes out a bit as apologetic; his head even lowers in a slight bow, "Ah, no, I can read it. I was just-I mistook you for one of my friends."
"You can read Chinese?" The other male slides his phone into a back pocket and walks over to Luhan, "Pretty impressive-although, I guess that's what's required if you're gonna be performing in China, right?"
A light chuckle emits from Luhan's mouth as he replies, "Yeah, I guess so."
A small pause ensues while the two stare at each other. Luhan clears his throat and steps back from the vendor, his eyes absentmindedly trailing towards the much wanted bag of cookies. The boy wordlessly inserts a bill and punches some numbers. "Your accent is pretty flawless for a Korean, you know," he says coolly.
"I'm not Korean," Luhan tells the other boy. Both of them eye the cookies as a black coil slowly turns and the bagged goods drop below into the metal plate. "I'm from Beijing. Four of our members are Chinese."
"Ah, is that so?" He takes the cookies into his hand and opens up the bag. He hands one single cookie to Luhan, "Hmm, EXO-M.. you're under SM's label, aren't you?"
Luhan nibbles on the pastry and nods.
"Ah, I'm so jealous--to be working under the same company as the great U-Know Yunho.." The other boy remarks. There's an envious edge to his tone. "..that must be amazing."
"It is," Luhan deadpans. His face softens into a nostalgic smile.
"Luhan-ge!" A voice calls from a distance. It's Yixing. "Luhan-ge, the van is here!"
Luhan positions himself in a 90° bow. "Thank you for the cookie, and I apologize for the misunderstanding. I will go now."
The other boy gives him a crooked smile and thrusts the rest of the cookies into his hands. He says with cresent-shaped eyes, "It was nice meeting you, EXO-M's Luhan. Maybe we can perform together side by side one day."
"It would be nice, I hope EXO-M gets the opportunity to. Until then, Mr.-?" Luhan replies politely.
"Yang Fan. HIT-5's Yang Fan."
"Until then, Yang Fan." Luhan bows again before jogging off to find his members.
Yang Fan smiles, wipes the crumbs off his clothes and turns back to the dressing room. "Luhan.. EXO-M's Luhan... I'm going to have to remember that."
A/N: Really short and quick HIT-5/EXO-M crossover fic because.. why not? I was actually surprised that there weren't a lot of EXO fics with HIT-5 considering the fun possibilities that could arise from the fact that Oh Sehun and Yang Fan look so similar.
