OK - something I found absolutely fascinating -
"Carnival" literally means "farewell to meat."
Hoorah.
"In many countries, the last day before Lent (called Mardi Gras, Shrove Tuesday, Carnival, or Fasching) has become a last fling before the solemnity of Lent. For centuries, it was customary to fast by abstaining from meat during Lent, which is why some people call the festival Carnival, which is Latin for farewell to meat."
I heart etymology.
So, at the swim meet, I swam the 1000 (40 laps) again. Fun times. My goggles came off on the start (so the chlorine stung my eyes for a good 15 minutes) and then my cap came off around lap 26 (my hair got in my face so I couldn't breath and it just dragged me down). I had to stop for about 10 seconds to pull my hair back and put a rubber band in it. It didn't help too much. Despite all this, I ended up being ten seconds faster than what I swam at the last swim meet. Go figure.
Yeah. I think that's it. That was my weekend. Sure, I watched the Super Bowl, but what was special about that?
Meh.
Oh, and I feel like a total bastard for skipping Mass so I can watch the Super Bowl. Hoorah. Perhaps I can talk Andreanna to take me to Mass tomorrow....
Again -
Meh.
