Are they lonely if they have friends on TV?
Is their life sad if they don't think so?

Hard to imagine someone so perfectly deluded that they weren't lonely because of their TV friends, or totally unaware of how sad their life had become. But anything is possible. Though I suppose I'd prefer a morphine drip to Rob and Amber if my plan was to block out the outside world and live in some fantasy universe - but that's just a matter of taste.

Boy, I sure wish I could care about something like Rob & Amber (whoever they are). At least that would be something. Don't be too upset by this. At least you're not one of us. Out here on the psychological perimeter, in a metaphysical orbit from which reality is observable as a mere concept, where everything is stripped away to it's bare fucking essence, the soul can easily succumb to thoughts of self-murder. Don't be heartbroken. Be thankful you've got a life worth living.

Interesting to equate "reality... as a mere concept" with "everything stripped away to it's bare fucking essence." Most would view that as a contradiction. Is reality then, at its essence, an illusion? If so where does that illusion come from? Can it be manipulated? As the previous poster noted it may be possible to be happy and totally deluded. You might say that one would have to be. Either way it really doesn't amount to much ( ... )
