 This morning, I saw an article about how the FCC has created a new site for people to test out their broadband connections.  They want to know what types of speed people are really getting from their broadband providers (never mind that I'm sure ALL providers have optimized connections to the benchmarking sites).  So, I went to broadband.gov, ( Read more... )

So, I reset the router to factory defaults and I'm back up 16Mb/s. So it might have been that I left the configuration alone when I'd upgraded the router a year or two ago.

It's not completely unnoticeable. It used to be that HD downloads on youtube would just barely keep up and would sometimes run behind the playing. Now, the download is shooting ahead of the play. More betterer :-).
