(no subject)
iv been in two minds whether or not to post this work, mainly because I don’t have the facilities to photograph large scale paintings properly, and I hate undermining the quality of my work with poor use of media, but, in the end this is a good part of why my journals still in existence, so whatever.
special thanks go to, death_on_vinyl, alienfox, miss.katey-loo, and the face only known as "Suzanna" for this one.
these paintings for me at least, go a long way towards representing a pinnacle for my efforts over the past year - more than that though, this body of work will also comprise my first independent exhibition, going up in the Art Bubble gallery the day after tomorrow, so they mark a fairly definite beginning to my career as an artist - a term that until now, iv not had the confidence in myself or ability to really use without pretense. so yeah, its a pretty big thing for me, to say the least.
so, as a final point to this mini-rant, id like to say a massive thank you to those who’ve supported me over this very, very hectic but brief year - whether its been in the form of lending me your face, or helping me believe in what im capleble of - even if you dont realize it, it all means a great deal to me. im not gonna do the nameing-names thing, as well, you should know who you are ^^
...tomorrow I get to sort the fittings and hangings out, Saturday celebrate/ see one of my best friends off into the scary world outside Stroud, then Sunday, probably lye in bed with a sore head feeling sorry for myself =D
