Poor reassurance, I know, but that law won't stand as is. They're just trying to make a stir.

And half the states that said they would follow suit are bullshitting. Especially Massachusetts. Romney's a lame duck, not even to mention the party makeup of their state legislature.

I'd be more worried about the inevitable Supreme Court case in the next < 10 years.

But even then, the most they can really feasibly do is leave it up to states to decide. In which case... don't move to South Dakota. I know what you mean here, and my roommate is responding identically, but really... there's nothing you can do besides move there and vote. If the voters of South Dakota want to ban abortion, the rest of the nation can't stop them right now. God knows George W. won't try.
