That sort of feeling is kind of what I get from VNV Nation. Or at least a lot of their songs, specifically the Empires album. Anyway. (Not that VNV is the only band it does it with, but.)
Actually, Who Will Survive... and Red of Tooth and Claw are my favorites, with only a few off of IBAL getting more than cursory playthroughs on occasion. XD But then, I was introduced to MbD through Who Will Survive and a lot of the songs speak to specific spiritual things for me, so. And RoTaC is the prequel to that album (they follow a storyline, whereas their others don't), so I really like a lot of the songs off that one as well. And, like I said, Fuego! is an Arlin/Babel song, so.
Fuego! was my first song, I think I downloaded from one of the music memes back when we were all doing them, and I didn't actually give it much thought the first time I listened to it, but somehow it appeared on my shuffle and something just clicked. I'm not sure if one of my characters grabbed it (like I said, that song belongs to like all my characters with any semblance of a sex drive,) and then I started looking for mentions of good songs in your journal and yeah.
And I haven't listened to everything yet, so I might change my mind about that, I just managed to get all the way through In Bocca Al Lupo last night and so I might have burned out my listening attention span by the end of it, which means I can't really appreciate songs, hah.
