By the way, don't worry - you find out about what dad said in Season 2 Episode 10 - not Season 10 LOL They didn't know they'd be even filming a Season 10 in Season 2! The episode you find out is Croatoan, and that is an excellent episode as well.
Once you find out what dad said, you will appreciate this scene at the beginning of Everybody Loves a Clown (ELaC) more as well.
Hearing you talk about discovering this show made me want to revisit it myself, so I'm watching Season 1 again and plan to go through all the seasons. The boys sure looked young back then.
Ah yes, of course they wouldn't have know there would be ten seasons when they said that about what John whispered to Dean. I probably just heard it wrong.
Dean rebuilding the car from scratch is supposed to symbolize the end of dad's hold on Dean and Dean thinking for himself.
Oh! There is so much symbolism in this show. That's why it's very nice to have all of you to point things out to me that I've missed. I really like Ash...what a cool character. Will there be more of him later on?
Yes, I noticed Back to Black was playing when they showed the impala all shiny and new. Love the music choices for this show.
I didn't like Gordon with his everything-is-black-or-white philosophy. I thought he was creepy.
In My Time of Dying: Like I said before, this in another all time favorite of mine. It's such a beautiful episode. But yeah... the coffee cup is awesome! That's such a great shot and I love the way they opened the next ep with it. P.S. I'm not telling you what he whispered. But you find out towards the middle of s2, not in s10. ;)
Everybody Loves a Clown: This ep is kinda meh, but it does introduce Joe and Ellen and they're cool. Also love the scene with Dean smashing up the car.
Bloodlust: In theory, Dean repaired the Impala to its original glory. But just wait... that car goes through a lot. Maybe she does have a little Kristine in her. :P
Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things: Haha, I never thought about that before! Nice catch. This whole ep is a bundle of raw nerves and emotion. It's a great one.
Aww, sorry you're getting sick. :( Grab some Kleenexes and use it as an excuse to marathon some more. :P
In My Time of Dying is my favorite episode so far.
I think Everybody Loves a Clown is the episode that also introduced Ash. What a cool character. Is there more of him to come?
Oh no, the poor Impala gets beaten up again?
Well, presumably since the grave was so new, it would have been easy for the boys to follow the lines of the walls, but it did strike me as an unusually skilled digging job. I loved when Dean got so emotional. He does that VERY well.
I don't know what was the matter with me last night. It started about 6 PM and all evening my nose was running like mad and I was sneezing my head off. I also developed a pretty bad headache about 10 PM. When I got up this morning, it was all over and my husband thought perhaps it had been my sinuses draining. I've NEVER had a sinus problem, but I suppose there's always a first time.
Yep, Ash was in there as well, he's a riot. You will get to see more of him. :D (There are so many awesome characters coming. You're going to meet another of my favorites soon, in Tall Tales. Can. Not. Wait. For you to see that one.)
The Imapla goes through as much as the boys do. It takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. Dean must be a killer mechanic. Jensen Ackles is great, he goes to some very deep places.
I never used to have allergies either, but this year has been killer. I think it's hitting everyone like a ton of bricks. Are you feeling better now?
True, since he completely rebuilt Baby. But I guess he must like the squeaky doors since he never oils them. :D
Yeah, I'm feeling fine now. Whatever it was, it was gone the next day. I've never had sinus problems, but hubby said it could have been my sinuses draining. I'm just thankful it wasn't a cold. I hate colds.
I though Ash was great. Will there be more of him?
I think she symbolizes Dean's heart and soul.
Oh, could be. There is a lot of symbolism in the show that I miss, but I have all of you to point things out to me. I love that so many of you are with me on this journey.
The first circus I went to as a child of around 10 was great fun except for the clowns. They really creeped me out. I read a while back that they are no longer popular for children's parties. I guess I'm not the only one who's not a fan of clowns.
I don't know what the heck the runny nose and sneezing was about. I was fine the next morning. Hubby thought perhaps it was sinuses draining, but I've never had sinus problems. I cleaned the cat litter boxes earlier that day so maybe there was something about that which set me off. Never happened before though. Anyway, I'm very glad it didn't turn out to be a nasty cold.
