I watched six more episodes tonight and because that was rather a lot. my comments will be a bit briefer this time. It was the first time since I started watching that there was an episode that left me cold...only the plot, I'll always love Jared and Jenson whatever the episode.
HUNTED - I was very surprised that Ava turned out to be possessed by the demon. I liked her. I loved that they used "White Rabbit" (Jefferson Airplane) and "Supermassive Black Hole" (I LOVE Muse) in the soundtrack. Loved the exchange between the boys in the Impala at the end. This was a cute episode.
PLAYTHINGS - ooh! I loved this episodes because of its references to Stephen King's "The Shining" and the movie "Psycho," two of my personal favorites. The Piermont Inn and the two girls were so much like "The Shining," the boys staying in room 237, and Rose isolated in her wheelchair was so reminiscent of Norman Bates' mother in "Psycho." The boys got mistaken for a gay couple again. That always makes me chuckle. And I loved Sam's facial expressions when Dean was telling the owner that Sam had a huge doll collection. Too funny. They must have done considerable location scouting to find that house, which was gorgeous. It appears I'm in for eight more seasons of Dean saving Sam, thanks to the promise he made to John.
NIGHTSHIFTER - This was a tense episode. Loved the references to "Dr. Who," the "Terminator" movies, and the line about Sam being Bonnie to Dean's Clyde. Great music in this episode, including "Renegade" by Styx. The scenes with the hostages in the bank got pretty intense. I sad to see Ronald get shot. He was a fun character and didn't deserve to die.
HOUSES OF THE HOLY - This is the episode that left me cold. Loved the Magic Fingers bed and how the doors on the Impala screech every time they're opened or closed. Liked "Knock, Knock, Knockin on Heaven's Door" -- very appropriate considering the plot -- but this episode is not a favorite.
BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN - Yikes! Jared really showed his acting chops in this episode. He was so good! Sam is usually kind of cuddly (for me anyway) but when he was Demon Sam, he was downright scary. I kept thinking, Oh no! Don't hurt Bobby! Jo was very good in this episode, too. The fight scenes between Sam and Dean were really brutal. I was worried that Jared would re-injure his so-recently-broken wrist, finally out of the cast.
TALL TALES - I liked this episode and the Trickster. Dean talking with his mouth full of something (candy?) was funny and so was the slow dancing with the alien. There was so much humor in this entire episode. I liked it a lot.
Two DVDs to go in season two so I may make it by the weekend.
