Taguchi Junnosuke was not a man prone to fits of violence, especially fits of violence against his close friends. He trusted them all with his life and his future and could usually take anything they could dish out in good stride, but there was one thing Taguchi was less than happy letting happen.

Jin dancing with Ueda.

Normally, he wouldn’t have cared if they danced together because normally it wouldn’t be Jin-running-his-hand-down-Ueda’s-chest-and-then-grinding-their-hips-together kind of dancing. There wasn’t much Taguchi could do about it though since Ueda hadn’t objected to being put in that position in the first place while they were planning out the choreography for Real Face and it would have looked weird for him to get upset about a part of the dance he wasn’t even in. With every run through, Taguchi had to fight down the urge to rip Jin’s hand off his arm - popularity be damned.

After hours of torture the others were oblivious to, Ueda and Kame had agreed the six had worked hard enough for one day and planned for more practice the following day. The dressing room was lively as usual, but no one could deny that something felt out of place without Taguchi’s random jokes about ice and camera shutters. Slowly, everyone started heading out - Koki and Nakamaru left laughing about something, Jin got a call from his little brother asking for some weird favor and he left still talking on the phone, Kame and Ueda chatted for a while about upcoming photoshoots and TV appearances until the aura of moody-Taguchi became too much for Kame and he left - leaving Taguchi and Ueda alone in the dressing room. On a regular day, the two would ride the train together for a few stops until Ueda changed lines, so no one had questioned Taguchi sitting around waiting for Ueda despite his obvious sour mood.

Whereas the others might have not been able to pin down the thing that made Taguchi so upset, Ueda was well aware of what it was. He’d been waiting, though, to talk about it - he wanted to see if Taguchi was going to bring it up himself and figured he wouldn’t want to talk about it with the others there. They sat in the silence for a few minutes - Ueda finishing putting everything away and Taguchi angrily staring into space.

“I don’t like it.”

Ueda smiled, “Is that as specific as you’re going to be, Junno?”

The friendly nickname didn’t do much to help Taguchi’s bad mood and he replied with, “that… dance,” he said the word as it were some awful taboo subject, “I don’t see why you’re the one-”

“It’s not a big deal.”

Whether or not it was, Ueda cutting off Taguchi was enough to make him get up and cross the dressing room in an instant to slam his fist down on the counter near the other man, “I don’t like Jin and you dancing like that! I don’t like him touching you so casually! Let him do the fanservice with Kame! It shouldn’t have to be you!”

Ueda could have laughed at the possessive Taguchi brought out, but he figured that wouldn’t be the best course of action to take towards calming Taguchi down, “Listen,” Ueda picked up Taguchi’s hand, still held tightly in a fist and rubbed the underside he was sure had hurt to hit against the counter, “you shouldn’t be worrying about that. You need to remember to take care of yourself these days leading up to the debut so you don’t stress yourself and get sick.” Ueda could feel Taguchi wanting to pull his hand away, so Ueda looked him in the eye and said, clearly, “You know there’s nothing between me and Jin, so stop acting like this.”

Ueda’s simple words must have hit somewhere with Taguchi, because the angry look in his eyes and the tenseness in his body started to dissipate and the deeper voice that Taguchi’s used when upset about something turned back into his natural, softer tone, “But Tat-chan…I don’t like it…”

Ueda smiled, congratulated himself for bringing Taguchi back to a type of sanity (there were few, if any, who considered him completely sane) and stood up so he wouldn’t have to crane his neck so much to look Taguchi in the eye, “I know, and I’m sorry, but this is what needs to be done. A week after the debut, we’ll probably never even have to do this dance again, so you can forget about it after that.”

Taguchi looked at him with the kicked puppy expression he used whenever he wanted something to go his way, but due to over-usage on Taguchi’s part, Ueda was nearly immune to it.

Ueda took Taguchi’s chin in his hands and brought it down just low enough so he could put he chaste kiss to Taguchi’s lips and whisper quietly, “You know where my heart lays Junno, there’s no need to question that, because the last person able to make me waver will be that Bakanishi.”

The smile that was brought out on Taguchi’s face was bright enough to make up for the fact that it was the first of the whole day.
