Bus stations (and stops) are interesting places for these types of encounters. Doing it on a regular enough basis means that sometimes, people who are legitimately "a bit off" end up talking one's ear off, being disrespectful, and so forth, but I think even they need to "be heard" and doing so even for a few moments can be helpful.

It's disappointing to me how even some of the most "spiritual" people I know get annoyed or upset by this type of reaching out that occurs...

It is one thing to maintain one's boundaries for health and safety reasons; it is another entirely to do the person-to-person equivalent of firing several warning shots across the bow when another ship is simply hailing. There's a little too much wasting of ammunition out there for my tastes, I think...

I was also thinking yesterday about all the dead from the current wars and how angry, unquiet, and restless they feel to me...

And then my mind went back to 1918 (40 years before my current birth) and how it was supposed to be "The War to End All Wars"--what a black joke that turned out to be.
