Ryuuzaki, looking the part of a real chef for once, stayed busy in the kitchen. He'd spent most of the day preparing little appetizers for the guests to nibble on, and now he was setting them out on trays. A table had been set up for most of the snacks, but since Kenzan had the job of snack monkey, Ryuuzaki figured he'd need trays filled with a variety of different munchies for the guests.

Occasionally Siegfried would peer into the kitchen. Ryuuzaki supposed that he was being checked up on to make certain that he was preparing for the party and not breaking into the booze to have a little party of his own. At least that's what he'd thought at first. He'd soon realized that he was going to have to take a page from his grandmother's book and smack Siegfried's fingers with a spoon every time he reached for a sample.

Yakou stood back to admire his artfully arranged artworks, and then wandered off to see what was going on in the rest of the house. He intercepted Siegfried on one of the visits to the kitchen.

"Now, now, behave yourself," Yakou scolded teasingly. "Those treats are for our visitors."

Siegfried scuffed his foot in the carpet, as he pretended to be apologetic. "I merely wish to test the quality of the snacks. However, Herr Ryuuzaki is quick with a spoon."

Shaadi approached the house, admiring the beauty of it as he drew closer. Yakou and his significant other had excellent taste, he decided. This could be an interesting experience, and one he looked forward to.

Yakou had taken up a station by the door to greet the guests as they arrived. He had been a bit nervous, at first - after all, he had never hosted a party like this before, and crowds made him nervous. However, he was discovering that there was a difference between being thrust into a crowd where he knew hardly anyone, and presiding over a gathering of friends and co-workers. He was feeling rather cheerful as he watched for new arrivals.

Shaadi saw Yakou waiting to greet the guests and headed over that way. It had been some time since their meeting, but he hoped he would be remembered.
