So. There's this ONE puppyshipping fic where I remember very clearly that Mai breaks up with Jou to get together with--the actor guy, I think?--and Kaiba Plots and it ends with Jou & Kaiba together, and there is this bit of an epilogue where Mai (who has left her children with them) comes visit and realizes that she has effectively lost her

Sounds very much like Jounouchi's Bar­tend­ing Guide To Life. The Author is Maggiemay and it was in Adultfanfictionnet.com. Don't know if it is still there or not though...Hope this helps some :)
