Today's Gospel reading...

For the first time, the account of feeding the four thousand in Mark 8 reminded me of Christ's temptation in the wilderness. It was verse four that did it: the disciples ask, "How can one satisfy these people with bread here in the wilderness?" I am visiting you at the slightly awkward moment
of, on making a daily check of who is new and who
is gone, fo finding you have defriended me which
is ok but anyway dropping by to see if everything
is ok...just this on this that I think of the
ancient eucharistic prayer from the didache
which relates to the dividng and coming
together of bread
"Just as this broken bread was first scattered on the mountains and, after being harvested, became one reality, so may your Church be gathered from the ends of the earth into your kingdom" there is also a common idea by Bible commentators ( ... )

Thanks for your concern, Your Grace. I do appreciate you checking in. I hope you are not offended or hurt at my impulse to edit my friends list. It's just that I've never been good at reading it all, and since I've started seminary, I've been even worse--strapped for time, you know. That's the only problem. I just decided to try to make things more manageable by eliminating the journals of those whom I don't know personally. I have really enjoyed your writing, and you might well see me reappear during the summer months!

Paul, sure whenever you want to resume it is
fine or not...
now as to the multipication of loaves here is
an icon of it which I think is quite wonderful
and you may like too. (or perhaps you saw it
when I posted it but in any case...)
