As a man, who's dealt with some crazy-extreme women in his lifetime, i find that ad annoying. Some parts were funny, but i think it's ultimately hit or miss with their intended audience(that being us guys).
Can you imagine an ad where men made their 'lame wifes' attend a cow-farm to be trained by porn-stars? holy crap.
absolutely. I think you missed my point though. This is a failed ad (IMO) considering the ones getting the short-hand this time is the very audience they're aiming to covert into sales.
unless of course, the idea here, is women go out and buy themselves these gifts. In which case i retract what i said and declare it 'genius'.
No no, I was agreeing with you. I did find the ad slightly emasculating, though as a guy I just shrug and go with it. Not enough to be annoyed about; I'll even see the humour in it. I just wanted to make a comment about the double standard. It's like how female nudity always causes an uproar somewhere, yet male nudity is viewed as comedy.
As for the ad, I actually had to think for a second over what they were trying to advertise. Then I had to pause at certain screens and try to make out the very blurry text just to make sure I was right. I mean c'mon, if you're going to be spending all this money on making a commercial short, at least make it clear what you're selling.
I get tired of the media portraying this tired sit-com "fat man skinny wife" idea of men and women.
I have often gotten very lovely very thoughtful gifts from men in my life, friends or otherwise. And if I didn't get exactly what I wanted, I'd be disappointed but I wouldn't react in a stereotypically female way. A gift is a gift, and if someone is giving one to you chances are they did put some thought into it.
I'm just getting annoyed with the whole "men are stupid and women have to train them to do their bidding" concept. If that's the way the world works, I'll stay single kthanks.
I think the vacuum was practical and the RAM with the note was cute. These fictional men are with the wrong fictional women. I'd be happy with both gifts or any gift for that matter.
