I seriously applaud this woman, but I really hope she still has a job tomorrow. And to that end, I am going to write a letter to the network right now telling them what a great job she did preserving the integrity of the journalism field, and how I'm more likely to tune into her newscast now!

real journalism

Outstanding. I do think she needs to avoid flipping out on national television, but I respect her stance!

I recommend modifying your letter a bit to mention the great job she did preserving the integrity of the journalism field AND that you will continue to buy products from MSNBC's advertisers. That's what it's going to come down to in the end.

I did mention that even though I have never watched an MSNBC broadcast before, now that I know there are still networks who employ "real" journalists, I plan to tune into her broadcast every day.

Which I assume they can extrapolate to mean they've got my eyeballs in the morning for whatever pablum they wish to push across the screen.

(which is not really true because I don't have a TV, and I don't have time to watch it in the morning even if I did, but... I figured, whatever helps her out.)

Alright...I collapsed my chair looking at this. Seriously. I was so sucked in, that my foot hit the height adjustment lever and SHOOMP down went I. The sneery boys were just as funny, and frankly, they're likely all phoning their agents now. :D

preserving the integrity of the journalism?

I think she just scraped it up off the floor a bit. Journalistic integrity went out the door when the field decided we needed the news from their point of view. And not with a "just the facts ma'am" accuracy.
Sells more news but it's where we get the "liberal mass media" or the "right wing spin".

*lol* that's okay.
It's not that I really think she's truly "preserving the integrity of journalism" so much as I intend to use that phrase in my letter to the network to help her keep her job.

Honestly from my viewpoint, she's more like... uselessly raging against the machine.
But that's a frustrating sentiment I understand all too well, and I appreciate her for trying. ;)
