That looks like a Mantis Shrimp http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoplocarida
When I kept reef aquariums it was a constant pest.

wow- that shrimp is bizarre- sea creatures are so fascinating to me. :)
constant pest? but...in an enclosed aquarium, how could it get in there if you didn't want it? or was the life cycle too hard to break?

One of the things you put in a reef aquarium is 'live rock' which is rock taken from the ocean floor. Mantis Shrimp hide in holes in the rock and come in that way.
