Doesn't anyone crochet kippot anymore?

kombu went searching for kippah patterns and found out that there is basically ONE woman who does this stuff, wrote a book on it, runs a Yahoo! group, and put the instructions online.

Am I wrong, or were girls at Brookline High doing this all the freakin' time during classes?? I always assumed they learned it at youth group retreats or in Israel or

I betcha if you posted about this on weirdjews or weirdjews2 there would be some folks who'd have info or links for ya. Jewish (esp Ortho) straight girls are always crocheting kippot for their boyfriends, I don't think that's changed.
