KF/Robin

Anything to do with hickies. Robin being new at the whole passionate making out thang, and clueless on how to cover the them up. Makeup? Rubbing a penny over it? Sweatshirts? Or maybe he just wants them to be visible... And maybe Bat Dad sees them and goes a little ballistic.

"...What is that on your neck?"

Robin's hand flew up, covering the skin exposed under his jaw; Batman's eyes narrowed at the immediate gesture. "What do you mean?"

Batman batted his hand away, peering closely at the spot. "It appears to be ... a bruise?" He tugged down the neck of the cape, unmoved by Robin's struggles. "I do not recall you being injured here." He pulled gently at the skin, examining it's dark coloration and circular shape critically. Dragging the cape down further, he revealed several more of the purple bruises, standing out vividly against his ward's pale throat.

"Where did these come from?" He ground out, trying to identify what could have been the source. He would almost say that it appeared as though Robin had been strangled, but the bruises were too inconsistent to be made by hands or a cord.

"I-I don't know. I only noticed them after patrol the other night." Robin said, still trying to squirm away from his mentor.

"Robin. You know you are supposed to report your injuries to me. All of them." Batman ( ... )

Batman arrived at Mount Justice, prepared to give the young team another mission. He is greeted by Red Tornado, who summons the apprentices. Aqualad arrives in the briefing chamber promptly, followed by Artemis. Miss Martain and Superboy fell in shortly after them, but Kid Flash and Robin are no where to be seen. As he is about to call them again, Kid Flash flies through the door, almost slipping on the floor as he came to a sudden stop.

"Sorry! What'd I miss?" he gasped, flushed. Which made no logical sense to Batman, as outside of training, he had never seen the youth short of breath.

He glared down at him, effectively freezing Kid Flash where he stood. "Where is Robin?

"I didn't - we - he - I - Rob's coming. I mean, not that, he's just - We were training. Robin had to get changed, he'll be right over."

Everyone in the room stared at the speedster. Artemis suddenly let out a loud snort, covering her mouth with her hand. "Smooth, Kid Mouth." He shot her a furious glare ( ... )

Recently, Dick had taken up the habit of wearing heavy sweaters. Bruce knew that Gotham was commonly chilly, but they were in the middle of a heat wave and Dick looked like he was positively dying under the woolly bulk. He knew that the only reason the boy was toting them around was in his attempt to hide the bruises he was so confident he could handle alone. Despite his concern, though, he couldn't help but hope that it was the sweaters that would finally convince Dick to give up and trust Bruce enough to let him know what was hurting him ( ... )

Batman was done with playing around. His boy was hurt, and continuing to be so, and if no one would tell him why, he would find out for himself. They didn't call him the world's greatest detective for nothing, after all. Taking the opportunity to sneak away his utility belt while Robin was in the shower (the only time he did not have the belt directly on his person), he swiftly and efficiently attached a near-near-undetectable microscopic microphone and camera, replacing it before it's presence was missed. While the utility belt wasn't exactly the prime location to attach the devices, it was the only way that he could be positive that he wouldn't a miss a thing of Robin's day (even if all sights and sounds would be recorded at waist-level ( ... )

Batman's first act is to suspend all of Robin's activities with the Young Justice. The boy is furious, but so long as he is contained in Gotham, he will be safe from West, as the members of the Justice League and their protegees know better by now than to enter his city uninvited. His next plan is for passive-aggressive mental torture. He had heard from Robin that West had been extremely excited to go to the molecular biology exhibit that had been coming to Central City. Too bad for him, due to a sudden and generous donation, the exhibit was scheduled to by-pass Central City and head straight to Gotham. Then he tampered with his costume (really, how could he leave it so unguarded?), altering it so that the next time he returned it from stealth-mode, it would be pink and purple, instead of the usual red and yellow (he would make sure their next mission took place at night). He then removed the one spare costume West had and covered the inside of it, and every pair of underwear and socks the boy possessed, with Bat-Itching-Powder. ( ... )

He and Flash find West in South America, hiding out in a busy town during a marathon. He asks Flash to give him a moment to talk to him privately, and Flash agrees only when he has made it perfectly clear that if he doesn't see his nephew again, Batman doesn't see his son ( ... )

An Ailment of the Heart [Epilogue] anonymous July 16 2011, 10:16:00 UTC
Dick and Wally are curled up together on the large, comfortable couch in the game room of Wayne Manor. Despite the couch's size, however, the boys are pressed together, Dick lounging in Wally's lap. They are playing a violent video game on the massive TV screen, Dick holding his controller in front of him and Wally holding his in front of Dick, his arms wrapped around the younger's middle (but a good half foot above the belly button). They are dressed in their boxers and nightshirts, a blanket wrapped around their waists and legs, not having bothered to change from the sleepover the night before. Dick is not wearing his sunglasses, and his eyes sparkle with mirth and his laughter rings through the house as he wins yet another round.

The prize for his victory? A cleverly concealed hickey located inbetween his shoulder blades.

"Another round?"

"You're on."
