Training Exercise anonymous March 6 2011, 22:20:10 UTC
I'd love to see a 5+1 fill where Batman used "training" as an excuse to spend time with Robin, and one time he didn't.

Bonus: have Batman use Hide&Seek as training for stealth
Mega Bonus: get the yj team involved

[Pokemon: White is eating my soul, but I promise to try and get this updated on a fairly quick schedule! Please enjoy!]

1-

“Agility training,” Batman had said.

Robin hadn't anticipated that to mean he would end up being chased halfway around Gotham with nothing but his thirteen-year-old wits, a utility belt that was half-drained of supplies after two hours, and the adrenaline surging through his veins that made him all too aware of the hair standing at the back of his neck and the knowledge that somewhere behind him, maybe far but probably close, there was someone chasing him, and the moment he stopped to breathe or turn around that motion-blurred shadow would be upon him ( ... )

He made it to the doorway when the glass shattered behind him, announcing the entrance of his pursuer. Robin spun in a circle, foot hooking around a nearby chair's leg and dragging it in front of him before he finished the turn, and bolted down the hallway. He heard the sound of wood splintering as the chair was first coiled up by a weighted lasso and then immediately slammed out of the way by a heavy arm.

This apartment had been a poor choice. After years of abandonment, it was nothing but a few rooms of peeling wallpaper and spider-webs and moldy wood; Robin's footsteps felt soft and caused the floorboards to creak in agony. His frame was already light. With any luck, his tall, muscular assailant's feet would go straight through. With bad luck, half of the floor would go with him.

The thought was barely formed when he heard a crack and the ground dropped from underneath his feet. Robin felt his cape whip over his head as he fell backwards, tumbling down with a shower of dust and splinters hot on his heels. He landed on the backs ( ... )

I seriously can't express how hard you rock right now writer!anon. Especially since this is the first prompt I ever posted.

You're freakin' amazing, and so is your fill. I kid you not, I had a huge spazz attack when I saw this XD(my family probably thinks I'm crazy now)

I love how you took a simple game and had Batman&Robin make it extreme to the max. Priceless :)

Thank you, OP! I'm glad you're enjoying it so far. E-especially since we're in kind of a funny coincidence, as this is my first fill on the meme! meme cherry popping go

Haha, the first game that popped into my head when I read this prompt was extreme tag. But I like to call this particular flavor BATMAN TAG...the same way I'll likely call future installments BATMAN HIDE-AND-SEEK, BATMAN DIVING, etc. Quail at my originality.

Next part will likely be up tomorrow! ♥

“Diving Training,” Batman had said.

Robin wasn't entirely sure what that had meant at the time, considering it had been said when Batman - home fresh from patrol and still in-costume - opened his door at one in the morning, demanded he pack his bags for a trip, and left with that as an answer to a slurred “Why?”.

Half-asleep, he'd thrown together a suitcase, dragged himself and it out to the car, then fallen asleep and drooled on the nice upholstery. He thought he woke up long enough to board one of Bruce's private jets or something, but it was all a bit blurry. So when a large hand had gently shaken him awake and handed him his suitcase, Dick still had no idea what Batman had meant by “Diving Training” as he followed the larger man through a set of gaudy glass doors.

However, as he watched Bruce Wayne, toothpaste-commercial smile in place, stroll across the lobby dressed in a tropical shirt that said I ♥ Hawaii, khaki shorts, and sandals, he suddenly had a pretty good idea ( ... )

Bruce had already turned his attention to setting up a laptop and securing a connection to the bat-computer. “Any questions?”

“Two, actually,” Dick piped up, raising his hand for effect (which was ruined by Bruce's failing to turn and look). Sure, tomorrow would suck, but at least he'd get to see the reef. “What about the last day?”

“I imagine it will take you as long to finish your reports,” Bruce replied without missing a beat. “But if you finish early, we can do whatever you'd like.”

Ugh. Well, maybe if Dick began right when he got back to the room, he'd finish in time for the trip to not completely suck. “All right, question two: Great Whites are in Australia, aren't they? So what if I get attacked by one?”

“Unlikely; they rarely leave the Southern Ocean. The majority of sharks you'll encounter will be harmless.”

“Okay, but let's say I smell really good. Don't I at least get some...I dunno, shark repellant or something ( ... )

-Pretty sure, yeah. Why?

-i just checked with alfie. he disappeared for a bit then came back and said the connection was just fine.

Dick's eyebrows knit together. Grasping the phone in his hand he made his way over to the laptop again, scanning his fingerprint. “Welcome, Dick Grayson,” the screen said, then “eff off” again.

-I still can't get on.

-well, just ask b to look into it. gotta go, cookie time!By the time Dick woke up, it was nine in the morning and Bruce was typing away on the laptop. “I won't be able to re-grant your account access until we return home,” he said without turning around ( ... )

Oh God, this was even better than the first! I loved Dick's reaction over what Bruce was wearing when he found out he was in Australia instead of Hawaii(I'd want to hide my face too ;P) and don't even get me started on the whole shark repellent thing ^-^ seriously, you are made of win.

Hey, guys! This is a quick note for anyone tracking this thread - I just wanted to say that, eight months later, I've finally managed to pick this project back up and am hoping part three can get done sometime in December! I'm sorry for the crazy long hiatus, but I'm not quite ready to give this fic up yet!

Thanks a million to anyone who happens to still be waiting for the update; you guys are the best :D ♥
