Though now I'm wondering if it can be done with Red Tornado?

OH. Oh my God...Okay, screw Clark and his issues, he's lost his shot.
I'D LOVE RED TORNADO BEING 'FATHERLY' TO SUPERBOY.
I don't think ANYONE could relate to Superboy better than Red Tornado, especially in regards to questions of being 'created', choosing your own purpose, trying to understand what makes one real, and what it means to have a soul.
Wow, this Anon_meme is opening my mind to ideas I never considered before.

“I get it, now,” Superboy said, his throat tight. He had to say this fast, or it would never get said at all. “Why you don’t want me. I can’t be your s-be yours, because I’m not a real person. I don’t have a soul.”
Superman looked at him suddenly, a choked sort of shock on his face. “WhatSuperboy stared at his feet and clenched his fists. He wasn’t going to say it twice, not even for Superman ( ... )

*sigh* Man, I've been in love with Clark Kent for almost a decade (as much as one can be with a fictional character, but I have very little life, so...) and sometimes I get so angry at him- with YJ animated, with Kon's early life in the comics, with New Krypton... And then sometimes someone writes something like this, and I remember why I fucking love him so much. He's so fucking human inside. *hughughug*
Thank you, anon!

This is actually a quasi-sequel to a fic I've had hidden on my hard-drive for like, two years, about Clark and Martha having that conversation. It hasn't been prompted, but would you want to read that too?
*flails with need to share the Clark-love*

Clark tried to pull away, but she wouldn’t let go and he didn’t have the heart to put real strength into the struggle. “No, it isn’t.”
“Yes it is,” she insisted. “God made everyone, and God loves everyone. No exceptions.”
Clark squinted and wrinkled his nose in what she well knew was an effort to hold back tears. “But what if there are?”
“Are what? Exceptions?”
“Yes!” Clark cried angrily, finally jerking away from her. He pushed past her and through the bathroom door, unwilling to face her. “I’m not a person Mom! When I sat through that sex-ed class everyone was so scandalized by last fall , all I could think was how much of this even applies to me? What if-what if none of this, any of what you and Pa have taught me about right and wrong and people and God and-and everything-what if none of it applies to me? I’m not even humanMartha didn’t pursue him, and when she spoke her voice was newly soft ( ... )
