One of the sucky things about having a secret identity was that he had to restrain the urge to walk on his hands down the hallways. Or do arbitrary gymnastics off the furniture. He pretty much had to train himself to sit normally when he got taken in by Bruce, but honestly, this whole walking like a boring person (on the ground! Always!) and sitting straight and still was driving him crazy. So yeah, sometimes he slips up.
After a while, either he or someone on his team figures out that he actually does a better job when he's not trying to reign in his movements anymore. He's less tense and fidgety, more focused and thinks better when allowed to move. So Young Justice suddenly has to get used to the full force of Robin's natural state of being.

Habits can be hard to break.
But then it happened, and he had to learn to stand still. Dick Grayson, Bruce Wayne's ward, had to show up to dinners and be professional and stuff. No, Dick, you can't flip off the drink table; no, Dick, stand upright, yes, with your feet down, and on and on. It was hard, but the nights made it so, so worth it ( ... )

Your description of how Dick feels about Bruce Wayne's parties (just another performance) was perfect. He doesn't change as Robin, unlike Bruce, he is who he is with the mask or without it. It's who he is at school and in front of rich socialites that is put on. And the nights making up for it... oh Dick. <3
This was breathtaking. Thank you for sharing it.
