De-aging fic with a twist! anonymous May 6 2011, 14:00:13 UTC
Hopefully this comes out somewhat coherently! Dx

I know we've had a lot of de-aging fics but the deaging process was usually instantaneous. What I would love to see happen is this - Young Justice accidentally sloshes into the Fountain of Youth on a mission and slowly start to de-age over time, like a year every couple of days or so. I would love it if their memories de-aged with them as well, because I love angst and the fact that SB is only barely a year old and his de-aging would make for a rather interesting case and Bruce having to deal with a silent with-drawn Robin again who just experienced his parents death makes me all sad! TT_TT Finals are over now so I can has an angsty hurty-comforty YJ deaging fic, please?

Could you imagine if Dick/Robin made it all the way back to before his parents died? Wonder if he would freak out on Bruce and try and run away? And isn't Miss Martian like 45 in Martian years? Wonder how the deaging process would effect her?

In other words, I hope someone writes this!

OMG I am dying to read this! I'd love to see SB as barely a year old, that would be quite an experience, yes?

As would dealing with an adolescent Martian girl who may or may not experience development the same way humans do..? XD

Robin ♥

Anon is sorry if it sucks and hopes someone will come and do this prompt justice!

It was horrible. And not in the annoyed sense, either. It was horrible in the painful, emotional, practically watching the ones you care about die in front of your eyes, horrible.

Sure, the kids were just getting younger but to Bruce Wayne and the rest of the mentors it was just the same.

No one thought anything of it when the team fell into a fountain while fighting some mediocre bad guy. They went home, showered, and continued on with their lives. Even the Superheroes who were supposed to protect their sidekicks didn't notice ( ... )

Wally's mother walked upstairs to find her fifteen year old son shrunk to a twelve year old boy. His arms and legs too lanky to fit the rest of him just like when he was twelve. His mother insisted there was nothing odd about Wally's personality besides his appearance but the Flash argued.

Wally's whole personality seemed to have changed, even Robin commented on it. Kid Flash didn't remember his best friend, didn't have powers, and didn't even care about his personal welfare. He wasn't eating and all he cared about was "Being just like Uncle Barry".

Bruce had never seen the child so self-destructive in his life.

They caught him three times trying to recreate the accident that gave Barry his powers. When they questioned him Wally just shrugged and gave a toothy smile.

Then, Batman's biggest fear happened.

It hit Robin.

The Dark Knight had been working so furiously to get the antidote before his adopted son caught it but he was too slow.

Bruce found Dick trying to sneak out his window. When he spotted Bruce the child practically ( ... )

Oh wow, this is awesome writer!anon, thank you so much for writing this! I love that you included comic Wally's obsession with being just like his Uncle Barry. And SM showing SB to the closet so he could relax and sleep through the worst of his deaging. And Kaldur, poor guy suffocating had to have been scary and then to wake up with a someone holding you, pooor AL! And Robin taking a dive out of the window to escape and you included him working through his parents deaths and Bruce comforting him, awww. And Artemis, it'll be okay Roy and Ollie will protect you and M'gann going through Martian puberty and it including her telekinesis being all wonky! :D

This story is awesome, lol, sorry for the long somewhat smishy-worded run-on sentency review. xD

The only problem I can see with this is that it's not longer, lol. I love the fact that you made them grow back up after they took the cure and yay for the whole thing making Clark want to be a better daddy to Connor! Wonderful fill for an interesting prompt! ^-^
