Me and multiple people would absolutely love the anon that wrote a story based on this comic:

(I dunno, I guess it could be Batman!Dick somehow changing into YoungJustice!Dick?)

A Remedy for Inadequacy (1/?) kingburu June 1 2011, 05:15:24 UTC
Tt.

“How many times have I told you to leave your katana behind? Damian-”

Grayson was heavy-hearted. He did not understand the skill-level I could have extended back there, when we first tackled the Witch Boy, and the past three months at his side had been a strain on the both of us. Pennyworth said to give it time-that for us to be a compatible ‘Batman and Robin,’ to listen to his orders, but thus far he’d made a better Nightwing than ever a Robin.

He chose the least gruesome way to apprehend the criminal. Staying in the cave, where Father’s origins lie was far too overwhelming for him. At a level of danger where Father would not have gone because he would have stopped the source at the very beginning, he offered a petty smile one knew better was forced.

“Was there an assassination involved? Did I chop someone’s head off?” I spat, as he rolled on about the rules I’d memorized the first day. He looked to me as though he saw great potential (potential he did not notice that had already been realized), yet as though he was ( ... )

And in the same position before, stood a boy with a stature that couldn’t have been any taller than mine, with the same pathetic, authoritative stance Grayson had earlier. Red tunic. Specific utility belt. ‘R’ emblem patched to his breast-pocket. Cape. Unwavering bright blue eyes with a vibrancy Grayson no longer had gleamed at their irises and he blinked-once, twice, thrice.

His gaze, of course, was locked onto mine.

“Hi…,” his pathetic excuse for a pubescent voice gleamed, “Uh, why am I pointing at you?”

What. On. Earth.

“Master…Richard-” Grayson? This was Grayson? Pennyworth stayed by my side with a noticeable gap in between and the tentativeness showed across his face. “Is that…could that possibly be you?”

The ensemble of choice screamed Drake. No visible green-the puniness, that went with Drake’s incompetence if this boy truly were a Robin, but that goofy smile, that irritating smirk god-forbid that was more than unnatural across the face of Batman was truly there. “Hi, Alfie! Sup ( ... )

This is just brilliant! I love you showed the difference between older Dick and younger Dick (what was gained what was lost)

Gahhhh. That last lines seems so ominous.

YJ!Dick is so playful and smug. Love it against Damian's personality.

So much mayhem to come.... cannot wait.

More factors. Telling one their future and creating a time paradox of which had never existed. If Drake were in this situation, knowing the psychological abuse Grayson put himself through for years in order to achieve self-worth-fend, until he was no longer Robin, fight his way until he became Nightwing, then now, as he struggled with his pathetic inner demons trying to become the replacement we all knew that he was not-Drake would have not risk it all on a whim, telling Grayson of his future on a risk he went back and corrupted the space-time continuum.

I was not Drake ( ... )

Not-Grayson froze again, frown and confusion blatantly apparent as he looked to my side. It seemed as though the similarities between my Grayson and this Grayson were as much eerily the same as they were different. He wore the same calculating, almost anxiously squirming demeanor, though more emphatic. I would say not even Brown wore her heart the way this imposter did.

“Right,” Not-Grayson murmured instead-though partially again I believed he was muttering his dialogue to himself. “Alternate universe. Not…always going to be whelming, sometimes…underwhelming. Heavy dis…but…” Receding from his internal monologue, Not-Grayson raised his eyes until they were on Pennyworth. I’d never seen the butler so animated. “But…you called me Master Richard. I…”

“This is the future. Not an alternate universe,” I coined. You become the second Batman, I was ready to say. You left Father’s side at the tender age of seventeen, honed your own city, created team-after-team-after team only to battle, isolate yourself from losses, and battle again until ( ... )

This is...really awesome. I like your Damian voice, and for that matter, your young Dick is quite heartbreaking. His first reaction, upon hearing that (what he assumes to be an alt of) his mentor is dead, is to hug the person he assumes will need it most, as well as the person he assumes will understand his own grief at the thought of Bruce dying. (Alfred is also heartbreaking, in his own reserved way--I imagine he's waiting for the DNA test to confirm Dick's ID before he glomps him himself.)

I really hope you'll continue with this; I'd love to see it all pan out.
