5 times Superboy was caught wearing the other mentor's costumes, and one time he wasn't.

Wow, that was intense. I spent the whole second half of this chapter going IS THIS REAL LIFE, WHAT IS GOING ON O_O I was seriously considering the theory that this was all just a bad dream, or some sort of hallucination. Thank goodness Batman figured out what was wrong!

Tee-hee again. Actually, a hallucination wouldn't have been out of place in the DC universe...

What kind or torture are you putting all of the team through here? Especially Superboy, of course... poor him...

Two things to irk me about this part, though.

#1 - How exactly did Wally escape Luthor's clutches without too much of a scratch?

#2 - I admit I'm biased, I'm a huuuge Superman fan, and this was just a little too OOC for me here. Clark would try and see reason, he's not one to hate (one to dislike or avoid, but definitely not hate)...

Thank you so much for taking the time and clearing these two things up. :)

I agree with what you say about Wally - I actually forgot about his ultra speedster healing abilities. *ashamed*

As for Superman - IKR, he's like a drug. Love Batman, but Superman and Lois Lane... I know he was supposed to be OOC because of the red k, and I always like red k stories a lot. :) I just thought the hate was a bit too strong even for red k, but ymmv, right? :) And after reading on a lot of things did make a lot more sense since I see clearly that you have great plans and am along for the ride no matter what. :)

I'll admit that the portrayal of red K here was heavily influenced by it's appearance in Batman: The Brave and the Bold (where it turned Superman into first a jerk, and then a megalomaniac who took over the world). I only watched a season of Smallville years ago... And then there was the old style red kryptonite, which would do random things, like turn Superman to stone ( ... )

Okay, B:TBatB is still on my to-watch list. But it sounds a lot of fun from your description. :D And I do know about old-style red k, though only through Wikipedia (although the L&C:TNAoS red k had a similar kind of randomness to it)...

D'oh! Sorry, English is not my first language, so I guess my use of elipsis was a bit unfortunate. I meant, I love Batman, but Superman and Lois will always be my OTP... Actually, I love your Lois - snappy, intelligent, quick-witted,... go, Lois! :D And I love your portrayal of Clark in part 5 as well. He can be so stubborn sometimes... ;)

Oh, B:TBATB is a wonderful, wonderful thing, though my love for it has a lot to do with my love for the Batman 1960s show, which is how I got into Batman, way back when in the day. And, way back when, when Cartoon Network didn't make any of its own stuff, just bought lots of old shows, they used to show the Superfriends episodes, where weird things (I mean, weirder things) happened when red K showed up. Superman rarely shows up in BATB, but the episode where he's spotlighted is called Battle of the Superheroes. You don't really need to watch the episodes in any kind of order (Except, I guess, I would leave Mite Fall for until after you've seen a lot of episodes). Before they were allowed to show Superman, they did a fun story where Batman went to another planet and met another batman and got Superman-style powers, making the other batman jealous of the Super!Batman. It's kinda hard to explain, except that it toys beautifully with Superman concepts without actually being able to bring in Superman. It's called Super Batman from Planet X ( ... )

Batman presses the button again and a monitor turns on behind him. “These are all the crimes that happened in Gotham while I was out of commission.” He presses the button again and three pictures flash on screen: Poison Ivy, Two Face and the Ventriloquist. “These are the villains who escaped from Arkham during that time.” He pushes the button again, the villain’s faces disappear. They’re replaced with the picture of a beautiful blonde girl who looks to be about Robin’s age. Batman doesn’t offer clarification, he just presses the button again, and the picture changes: the girl is now lying lifeless on the floor. Two holes mark her torso with bright red, and her hair is splayed out on the floor ( ... )

He looks at himself in the mirror one more time. He barely recognizes himself under the green face paint. M’gann is so often human for him, he wants to be Martian for her, just this once. He’s told her, he’s giving her a surprise, a present, but he hasn’t told her what ( ... )

So, it turns out, getting to the Batcave is a logistical nightmare. Every member of the team, except, of course, Robin, has to go through an extensive security search and patdown, and then they need to be knocked out, transported via Zeta Beam, and revived once inside the Cave. It also turns out that it’s totally worth it ( ... )
