In a single day, Bruce Wayne lost everything. Again.

Dick Grayson and Alfred Pennyworth are dead. Superman puts Young Justice (minus Robin, obviously) on suicide watch. YJ doesn't know about Bruce's secret identity, or that Robin is dead.

Bonus: The team is suspicious of the fact that Superman is subbing in for Batman.
Double Bonus: The team is uncomfortable with the mission.

Triple bonus: two versions, one where for whatever reason, no one has actually died, and it's all an act to smoke some criminal out, and Superman ruins it.

Anyway, I've been feeling crummy all day, and totally wasn't expecting this, but was soooo glad I took the time to look for it! Yay! Everything was wonderful, the triple bonus was AMAZING. Love Bruce Wayne chastising Superman. It's like 20 different kinds of awesome.

The Version 1 ending kind of made my internal organs shake and shiver, but Version 2 made it all better. I love the Bruce/team bonding, and god, that scene with Bruce explaining tea to M'gann really got to me--Bruce's poise in his grief, M'gann patiently absorbing his stories. And then the rambling/teaching and how well he knows them all and how it all comes crashing down on the team OH GOD. I really needed V2, thank you so much for including it, though I have to say, with his grief so real in the first couple of parts, V1 totally fits. (I just don't want to see it happen in any world so lalalala.)

Loved your Bruce, loved your team, loved this fill.
