So when Dick was younger and had nightmares, Bruce didn't know what to do and essentially picked him up and paced back and forth until the rocking motion put him back to sleep. Sometimes this took forever. Now he's thirteen and "too old" for that, so when he gets nightmares after a mission Bruce takes him out for a drive in one of his cars instead. Cue flashbacks to all those times he paced with his little bird to help him fall back asleep.

Please?

Bonus if you have Bruce tuck him back into bed after the drive.

So adorable! I love Dick's contented little smile and how very small he looks. I also think it's touching how Bruce looks exhausted but is still carefully tucking Dick in with care and well-wishes. He might not smile, but he cares. <3

The boy had complained before about how Bruce always was opening his bedroom door at night, that he was too old to be checked on. Bruce didn't really care if Dick complained though. He felt better with that door open so every night as he passed he would open it. Usually the boy was asleep when he did this although some nights he found him playing on a laptop or some game instead ( ... )
