Anyway, this continues to be beautiful and brilliant. I think my favorite thing here is the image of Bruce as an aging Atlas. This is exactly what I was craving. THANK YOU! And I like Dick trying to make the best of a bad situation. He's a wonderful source of support and reason. Not to say that Bruce's guilt isn't reasonable. He didn't know (and couldn't have know, Dick is right) but still, the guilt is understandable. And Dick's use of the word knower? Wonderful.
I continue to enjoy Superman. I think Supes as reader-avatar works on a very meta level. Aren't readers all voyeurs? Voyeurs infringing on the lives of fictional characters, non-persons, but voyeurs nonetheless?
Thanks for writing this fantastic story. As always, looking for the next part.

Dick punched him in the arm, and this was another oddity of their relationship, in Clark’s opinion. Kids simply did not use that particular gesture of familiarity with their parents; it was more suited to a sibling or close friend. Heck, it was more suited to anyone who wasn’t Batman.
“Believe it or not,” Bruce continued, “Between you and Damian, I thought you’d be the jealous one.”
“Because I’ve been an only child for sixteen years?”
“No, like I said-more that you’ve been a spoiled brat for a comparable length of time.”
Dick leaned harder, chin digging into Bruce’s shoulder and forcing him to support more of his weight. “You’re a jerk, you know that? I mean, I know you hear it all the freaking time, but do you actually know that?”
He was smiling, slightly, above Dick’s head and out of sight.
“A spoiled brat who sulks and damages my property whenever I’m not paying full and absolute attention to you ( ... )

As always, love the new bits, but two things in particular struck me as brilliant. First, I love the gesture of Robin punching Bruce and Clark's reaction. :D And also, I love Dick pointing out that Bruce always rewards his bad behavior. :D
Awesome. Thanks.

Clark could see Bruce’s spine curving forward, almost hunching over. Dick, sensing the motion, lifted his weight from Bruce’s shoulder-but still kept himself firmly within what Bruce would normally consider personal space.
“I don’t want you to feel obligated,” he began, but Dick raised a hand, cutting him off.
“Bruce. Of course I feel obligated to you. I don’t think anyone else alive could have done everything you’ve done for me--”
“Would have, you mean, many could have--”
“Which,” Dick said, the raised hand closing around Bruce’s upper arm, “is exactly my point. Detective.“I’m really not in the mood to be called that ( ... )

“Right: his perspective has been so warped by Ra’s-with Talia’s compliance-that I don’t know if there’s anything left for us to work with.”
Dick looked pained, carefully controlled sympathy clear in his expression. “You’re not ever going to forgive Talia for this, are you?” Belatedly, he tried to lessen the grimness: “Next time you start feeling the creeping approach of a cold, empty nest, I bet you go right to Selina.”
Again, Bruce rapped Dick on the head, before gently pushing him away. “If I ever show any interest in having another kid, that’s your clue that I’m an impostor and I want you to kill me,” he deadpanned.
“Would that be before or after I deal with the impostor, boss? Just so we’re clear.”
Bruce shook his head. He was done with the joke.
Dick didn’t quite deflate, but he ( ... )

Bruce and Dick's dynamics in this story is officially the best I've seen so far. Your version of Dick is even more of a smartass than usual. I totally love it, and the way Bruce deals with it.
"“If I ever show any interest in having another kid, that’s your clue that I’m an impostor and I want you to kill me,”
Well. Does "having another kid" refer only to the conventional way of doing it? Because what if Tim and Jason show up - granted, late - to this verse? Does that make him an imposter?
Anyway, I'm so happy you updated! I'd like to see how long Superman sits there creeping on the Bats.
