I read some very good advice that came in a series of letters to young writers and it's part of what helps me get things done. If you need some inspiration, this totally helps me every time I read it: http ://www.nea. gov/national/homecoming/essays/bausch. html
I actually had that problem with Alfred in this section. I know how he acts, but his voice definitely didn't come easy to me.
You can do it!! (Eh, the more you practice is the better you'll get, even if you don't necessarily like it. I love fanfics and anon memes especially because they give me the chance to try out new things. For example, fluff? So not my thing, and yet here I'm writing what is apparently the fluffiest thing in this fandom.)
Actually that's a huge compliment. I'm so happy I could help you get back into writing! I can't wait to read what you've written!

There is an unspoken law in Gotham that every crook, from the two-bits to the mob bosses, knows by heart:
Never hurt a Bird, 'cause it's never worth angering the Flock.
Trip them, tie them up, knock them out, maybe even shoot them in a non-fatal area. But never do anything that they can't get back up from again, or else your life will be forfeit. The Flock will destroy you, if the ( ... )

Even with three quarters of his face obscured with bandages, the scowl was apparent. "No, why would I be angry that you left by yourself to do whatever. It's not like I was angry back when you spent all your time on the Team or the Titans and I'm totally not angry that I really don't see you much anymore now that you've completely left the house and it's not like I'm worried since Roy sucked balls when he started out on his own and-"
"Whoa whoa whoa," Dick said, cutting off the tirade and raising two hands in protest. His expression softened even further. "Was that it? You didn't want me to leave?"
"No," Jason spat out, the denial obvious. Dick was quiet for a moment before flinging his arms around him.
"Mmfmf get off of me Dickfa ( ... )

The Joker was appropriately crazy and all of the characters were perfect and adorable and you even got Ace in there and calling them the Flock. I don't think I mentioned that I was planning on having that be one of their collective names, did I? Anyway you must be a mind reader.
I'm sorry for babbling in delight. But the delight is there and it's bubbling. This was such an awesome treat to find waiting for me after I finished my exams, so thank you for this. I'm glad you decided to follow this bunny where it lead you. (And if you ever want to write more, you definitely should because this is awesome and you're a very good writer!)

Ha ha, I just figured, "Lots of birds, gotta call 'em something, the Flock, go with it." I didn't even refer to any of the Batkids by their hero handles (except for Nightwing) because despite you being semi-sure, you still weren't set on them so I figured I didn't want to guess and re-edit in case I was wrong (which is why I de-anoned to post, in case I wanted to change something).
But yeah, I wrote this story 'cause someone mentioned Under the Red Hood and then I wondered how your Jason would be in such a situation and then I wondered what kind of issues your version of the characters would have because this is still Batman and everyone has issues and...
Must remember to breathe now.
Again, I'm happy I got to cheer you up and I'll see if more bunnies come attacking sometime!

I really appreciate that you avoided using hero handles, it makes it easier to fit it the story into the verse.
Take a deep breath. You did a wonderful job. Those are all such interesting questions and I love how you addressed them!

This was vague in just the right amount. If we're assuming Strays to be a separate story instead of fanon, then only the first two books are out, with five more to go (I'm not including Dick in the first two, since we haven't gone into him yet, and I think Ace counts, so that's five). So for the future!verse of a story which isn't even halfway through, this needed to be written with the perfect amount of leeway so it doesn't mess up canon later, and you've done that, all the while keeping everyone splendidly in character.
Your idea of Dick and Jason's relationship, which is essentially one of the center focuses of this piece, is pretty much my headcanon! Jay really just needs some hugs (and saving, even if he's not some damsel in distress), and I knew I could count on Dick to figure out how to hug Jason! And the nicknames! You ( ... )

You definitely did not muck up, and Under the Red Hood really kills you and inspires you at the same time, doesn't it?
I didn't even know there was a Cassandra before this meme, and I knew Steph from Wikipedia only. Then I read this huge bunch of Batfam fics on this meme and was all, "Who the hell is Cass?" and went out and demolished half of all the Batman - well, Dick Grayson, mostly, but Batman too - issues and fell in love with the Batfam.
I agree with what you said about Jason, and *blushes* thank you. I always feel so self-conscious leaving those huge comments. I'm writing another one write now. I have no restraint. *hangs head*

This is lovely and amazing, and you saved Jason! Under the Red Hood makes me cry gross disgusting tears everywhere, so seeing this was awesome.
Poor Jay, his partner took off for Bludhaven and abandoned him, and he’s trying to be tough about it, but he’s *hurt* and *worried.*
And Dick, thinking that they didn't need him anymore.
I love the interaction in this. (Dick and Jason had so much *potential* in comics that never had a chance to be realized, so I always adore AUs where we can see what might have been. Like this perfection.)
And Dami! So cute and still such a little troll.
Ending it with the whole family there was perfect and hear-warming.
