“They’re like rats!” Lex Luther was ranting, which caused Mercy Graves to roll her eyes as she flipped through her magazine. There was no use talking to him when he got into a rant like that. “Every time I turn around, there are more of them! What are we at now, twelve?”

“Five, sir,” Mercy said, keeping her voice neutral. “Not counting Batman.”

Lex Luther growled. “I will destroy them!” he said, slamming his hands down on his keyboard with grand effect. Mercy didn’t mention that he had said that last time. And the time before that. And the time before that. And every single time he met them. “I will hunt them down, one by one, and then I will finally be rid of those brats

I've been reading through other Strays comments, so when I saw the title I got a Joker worthy smile. Then by the end, I was giggling so hard, I think I stopped breathing for a few seconds. Thank you, that really made my day.

This is fantastically hilarious. I love that Lex can't keep track of the Flock and Mercy's commentary is perfection. I was definitely cackling like a maniac as I read this.

I'll have to inspire you more often if this is what happens.

Mercy had a surprisingly strong voice in my head, especially considering my limited interaction with her. And I'm so glad my humor turned out--every now and then I write something I think is funny, but in hindsight is just bad. I'm due any time now, so I'm a bit paranoid.
