I am REALLY, REALLY SORRY about taking so long, guys, and about not being around much recently. I've been busier than I have in a while, and it just kept slipping my mind between uni applications and volunteering and all sorts- for some reason I thought we were much further off a new post.

Prologue: The Changes

Black shadows crept over, through, and around the surroundings, clinging to the atmosphere like sticky webs. The darkest shadow of them all cautiously approached the runes written on ground, still glowing a sickly green.

The runes flared brilliantly for one split second, making the darkest shadow fall back.

With a flash, the runes disappeared, leaving behind only darkness.

The shadow stepped forward, the black cape sweeping along the floor, piercing eyes searching for the result of the runes. Behind him, a smaller form landed on a jutting gargoyle, the red and green bright and flashy in the darkness.

There seemed to be a question on the boys lips, meant for the dark shadow alone.

A moment later he got his answer when the entire city screamed, the unheard noise reverberating in his soul in a howl on anger

Bruce Wayne sees her first, a tall, dark, imposing woman. Her midnight black tumbles back behind her shoulders, the streaks of smog gray, and gleaming silver adding to her imposing stature. Her dress looks like giant skeletal wings, closed around her, cloaking her in blackness and shadows

I love how none of the other heroes were as affected as Bruce and Dick... even the villains of Gotham are being pulled to her.

This is marvelous. Can't wait for more!
