Youn Homeless!

Okay a while back I saw a prompt about Wally being homeless, and eating a bagel off the ground, so I want to see an AU where the team are a group of homeless kids wandering the streets of Gotham and how they survive the harsh life. They can be runaways, abandoned, w/e I just want them all pulling together to keep themselves and each other alive. OT6.

Bonus: A happy ending!

Why is this reminding me of the Disney version of Oliver? Robin as the little kitten taken in by a group of stray dogs and them all banding together until they find a rich, kind Mr Wayne to take them all in lol.

“It’s not as bad as it could be,” she admitted, holding the thick red curtain aside, allowing Dick to enter the backstage wing, “It’s surprisingly comfortable throughout most of the year, there’s tons of space, and no one ever comes here. Well, except for you.” she added with a chuckle, and Dick gave her a small smile in return

“I’ll bet,” Dick sighed as he wrapped the blanket around himself, settling down into the cot with a content sigh, “I’ve no doubts that anyone else would’ve thrown me out the second I set foot in this place.”

“Just know that you’ve got to pull your weight, Dick,” Artemis informed him as she lay down, “I’ve got a few money-making methods, but they’re not really cutting it…”

“I’m sure I’ll think of something,” Dick yawned, his eyes sliding shut as Zatanna doused the lantern beside her bed. For the first time in years, Dick didn’t have nightmares about the night his parents died. Rather, his dreams were filled with you young women; one with blazing blue eyes and the other with a flowing braid of blonde hair.

this did the opposite of suck! i LOVE all things artemis/zatanna so i basically died when artemis was telling dick about how zee is the only one she can trust. the contrast between the two girls here is stark and beautiful - zatanna's openness, artemis's world-weary pragmatism.

also this: “Fate’s just cruel like that” ... brilliant! wonderful start, can't wait for more.

Sitting up with a quiet yawn instead, Dick glanced around the dressing/bedroom as he groggily recalled all the events of the previous night

“Still...gotta eat something…” the red-headed boy muttered to himself, zipping his bag back up after pulling out two granola bars. Shoving one into his pocket, he ripped the other open with his teeth and took a large back and he headed down the alleyway, which was a bit riskier but at least less crowded than the sidewalks
