Certain things about moderating this meme make me uncomfortable. So far I've gotten by, and most of you are lovely, but it's gotten to a point on one particular issue where either this needs to stop happening or I don't think I'm going to be able to continue and keep my state of mind OK. I'm so sorry that you feel upset because of this! In my opinion this meme is one of the best things I've paticipated in this year and I'd rather it be filled with huggs and love than all this ...er...not-nice-ness??

I have been very conflicted on these anti-Wally and anti-Megan prompts lately. I love both characters, and hate seeing people using prompts to highlight a character in a bad light ( ... )

It brings me down when I'm scrolling through the meme and happen upon a giant post that is so overflowing with hate I could practically put a pot on it and cook eggs.

I'd like to second this. Especially the ones that are immediate replies, so they don't require me to click through to read them. I've gotten good at ignoring the huge blocks of discussion, but it really depresses me to see some of the more abrasive stuff set right out on the page when I'm scrolling through the discussion post.

Okay, first off? Inflicting your biases on the meme is unprofessional.

I know, you're not a professional, but *what mod is*? I've run several communities and several prompt memes and I've NEVER had the kind of wank you're dealing with. Granted, I've dealt with much smaller communities and fandoms, but it's still ridiculous how instead of cutting off the gangrene you've encouraged the infection.

If it makes you uncomfortable or ashamed please think about picking up a co-mod or two to help you wrangle with things on the meme. They could also help with updating the Delicious account or any other kind of archiving.

I appreciate you freezing all prompts relating to this issue now, even if your actions in comments lead me to believe that you're not going to back up your statement. (Someone has complained about the prompt, thus, freeze it, don't say 'well...')

I am not going to pick up a co-mod who has views I consider to be wrong just to be 'fair'. If I think a view is wrong, I'm just plain not going to entertain it, such as with regards to the stuff about M'gann.

So you dealt with entirely different situations and yet you feel this doesn't explain the different levels of wank? Young Justice is a fandom that has highly contentious social justice issues, and this meme is large and anonymous, both of which encourage wank. It is not my failing that people are posting these things. It's anonymous; I can't stop it. I have to be reactionary. And I have been reactionary, so I have no idea how I have somehow encouraged people to bash characters, victim blame, and generally disobey the rules ( ... )

and what if you personally believed that homosexuality was wrong? Would you oppose prompts asking for slash? That would make you a homophobe... just because you perceive yourself to be right, and you are in a position of authority, does NOT give you the prerogative to dictate what is right and what isn't. A few people in history have done this. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, you see where I'm going with this. If I had been you, I would not have admitted I carry a personal bias towards anything. In fact, when I see a prompt I find offensive or don't agree with, I move on, knowing that out of the thousands of prompts there eventually WILL be one I like... the wankers are the immature ones who don't move on, and who feel compelled to espouse their views, where, if you have a belief, SOMEONE on Earth is going to oppose it.
