Drag Pageant anonymous October 3 2011, 02:58:52 UTC
Every year at my school we have a drag king show (because we're an all girl school :P ), but I would like to see all of YJ (and Roy, because we like dragging Roy into the antics) enter a Drag pageant for both Kings and Queens. Whether it's for charity or giggles, I'd just think it would be cool.

Bonus: Conner wins. Because I want to see how you would have him react to winning a drag pageant.

A/N: This is based off of a real drag contest held at my high school every year. America has everything peps.

captcha says Uniform Rectme...I guess that means I'm taking request for what the other sidekicks are wearing.

The first thing Conner realizes as he looks from his flat chest and obviously fake wig to Megan's flat chest and obviously real facial hair is that shape-shifting is obviously cheating. Conner watches as Megan contemplates her reflection in the long mirror while rubbing her new found stubble.

"You look amazing," he tells his girlfriend. He lays his strong hands on her toned, manly shoulders. "Maybe a little too amazing ( ... )

It comes out to the mentors that Superboy and Robin are dating. The Flash, just because he can, keeps trolling Superman and Batman about the fact that their sons are gay. (Not necessarily because he's homophobic, but just because it's one more thing he can use to annoy them.)

But then he walks in on Aqualad and Kid Flash making out shirtless. Que Flash quickly trying to explain the not-homophobic-just-insensitive thing to his poor, scared nephew!

(This prompt wasn't written to offend, and I'm sorry if it's taken that way. I just know a lot of people who aren't homophobic, but just don't get how awful some things they say are, and would like a fic showing that realization.)

King Orin is a pederast; Kaldur has been his partner in more ways than one since he became Aqualad. Kaldur, while not being the one to have initiated the relationship, is completely accepting and immersed in it.

The JLA and YJ, however, are less than tolerant of this knowledge.

Artemis' past- repost anonymous October 3 2011, 03:22:36 UTC
So, with the recent events in the YJ comics involving Artemis' past: I'd love, love, love to see a story involving the team finding out about her father and her sister being villains and just, I'd love to see lots of hurt/comfort and team bonding time and such. <3

How this happens is up to anon.

Gen is okay, but Spitfire if pairings are involved? And I'd rather there be no mention of the mole? Or at least it not being her, as a double agent or otherwise? I kind of just want the focus to be on them being there for her and how they find out.

Aw, family stories are one of my favorite's. And one including Spitfire would be love. I can totally see Wally and Artemis bonding over the fact that they each have a villain family member (Wally's uncle, who's also Barry's twin brother, is Malcom Thawne, aka Cobalt Blue in the comics).

Seconded.

Auntie Artemis anonymous October 3 2011, 03:26:21 UTC
It's been confirmed that Artemis and Cheshire are sisters!
Fandom practically demands that Lian Harper happens. Which means Artemis would be Lian's aunt.
Run with is anons!

Roy offered to buy her a new copy of the book, one with gilded pages and a silk ribbon bookmark, annotations, essays, and other baubles, actually printed in England and imported at first-class speed, but Artemis declined. He didn’t shut up about it until she showed him the nameplate on the inside cover, the one that said “JADE NGUYEN” in green crayon and a child’s carefully-traced block letters, and “ARTEMIS CROCK” below that, in an older sister’s deliberately elaborate, newly learned cursive, looped and underlined, much fancier than necessary and in actual ink.

He’d just stared at the two names, bowing his head.

“Guess I’m glad there’s something positive she can share with her mother,” was the last word on the subject. It was overly optimistic, of course; the various warrants out for Cheshire’s arrest made the very idea of her lingering long enough to read Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to her daughter outright laughable. Lian’s only contact with her mother since age two were the birthday cards and child support Jade sent. While ( ... )

Lian said yes, and went straight to the book first’s page, as Artemis set her brush aside and began twisting her niece’s hair into a tight braid.

“Alice was beginning to get very tired of sitting by her sister on the bank…” and while it was a sentiment that Artemis could never understand, as she praised her sister’s daughter and kissed her cheek, she was glad, too, that there was something positive that Lian could share with her mother and father, and with her aunt, too.
