aaaah! so extremely busy.

Well.

Good fandom news - the fantastic Higuchimon, who had announced her retirement from the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom (to focus exclusively on GX) last year, just published the first chapter of a Seto x Otogi fic. YES. Title: Unarmed and Extremely Dangerous.

Personal news: I am beyond busy, but the current love of my CW life has ( Read more... )

Well, it's not a "Seto x Otogi" in the sense of romance. They're just the main characters. :)

Also, I don't think it's possible for me to ever truly retire from any fandom. I just go into minor hibernation for some of them. And sometimes I come out of it again. But I have YGO DM fics on my list (nearly 800,000 of them, in fact!) and I intend to write them all in due course.

Granted, it doesn't even compare to my GX listing, which as of now is estimated to be in the ...um...well... a lot more. Like, in the milllions of words. I can't even try counting. I lose track. Maybe I'll work out an average sort of estimation for next month's fic list posting and see what I've got. I haven't scared enough people this yaer. ;)

Oh! Well, I'm favorable to the fic regardless of its gen/pairing aspect :)

And gosh am I glad you were only hibernating! I've been missing your writing, will catch up as soon as time allows me to. One question: how... How do you know that it's 800,000 words? What I really mean to say is, I am amazed at your ability to estimate that word count. What calculations make you come up with so precise (and impressive) a number?

Best,

I try to have a general idea of what I want to have happen in the fic and how much it will take me to do it. I have been known to be wrong, though. So something could exceed or not quite achieve what I thought it would. Sometimes it depends on the type of fic it is. An epic rewrite of an entire season can easily make 300,000 words, for example.

A... an epic rewrite of an entire season?!?

You did this? not that I doubt your abilities. I'm still shocked that this is even a thing. (And now I'm even more curious)

Hm... I think the honest answer is I am cutting on some other things I love to do - because I really make it a point to sleep 7,8,9 hours a day. B-but I know your question was only rhetorical.

I should be the one to wonder how you manage to do sooo much reading, and writing, and art, and loving in the same day...

Looking forward to your fandom debut :)
