Some of the reactions I read after watching last night's H50 were a little funny.
I'd think the point about the North/South Korea border being the most monitored one be valid.. except for a few things.
1) South Korea apparently looks a lot like Nuuanu Valley (pilot);
2) um, I somehow doubt the border involves a large body of water/ocean, unless Jimmy Buffet's character lives pretty close to the shore (and flying in an arc over the water was the best way to circle back to South Korea? I'm not up on Korean geography);
3) you know, that dirt road the helicopter flew over at one point looks a lot like that road Steve raced a horse down in the episode with the cult leader's daughter; and
4) show already did ridiculous things with locations, what's one more? Of course, it's probably the one noticeable to most viewers, but still. XD (Kailua Inn? KAILUA INN? What is with the show's need to stick random accommodations all over the place? And apparently Chinatown has beachfront property that looks a lot like Waikiki along Ala Moana Blvd.)
Also, I'm wondering why one or two people think the team left Kono behind to make her way back to Hawaii on her own. Excuse me? Last I checked, the flight time between Korea and Hawaii was around 10 hours one way, with a hefty chunk of Pacific Ocean in between? I highly doubt they can do that in a fully loaded 14+ year old helicopter with an unknown amount of fuel. Plus there's their cover story about the humanitarian mission that they probably have to go through with.
Now, I agree in wishing Kono hadn't been left behind to do the tech work while everyone else went to rescue Steve, AND I wish she got a chance to see Steve before the episode ended, but oh well, show isn't exactly perfect. See: Lori's Mary Sue-ish ability to assemble a weapon she hasn't used before, and being able to aim it accurately, in an extremely limited amount of time. Right show, right.
I wasn't expecting the folks from the SEAL Team 9 episode to reappear. Continuity is cool, and I wish the show would remember that more often.
Wo Fat must be like a ninja, since he was able to hide and keep quiet long enough to slip out while everyone else was distracted at finding Steve. Also, he apparently only had a handgun on him compared to the big guns the henchmen were using. Huh.
Ok, first Laura Hill, then Governor Jameson, and now Jenna Kaye. Compared to John McGarrett and.. was there anyone else? (I'm not sure Makoto counts.) I'm not sure if I'm annoyed yet, but if the female character deaths keep up, I will be. Even though two of those were male characters in the original show (not sure about Hill).
I wonder if they filmed this episode right after or simultaneously with the SEAL Team 9 episode? It'd be efficient use of their available actors, at least.
And the proposal scene was so cute OMG.
