I just spend like 2 days going through 4 YEARS worth of LJ posts of an action figurine webcomic. And it was soooooo worth it.
So a bit of backstory. I saw Hellboy 2 on tv the other day, and so totally saw potential in the (Red+Blue=) Purple pairing. That said, I went around looking for a way to satisfy my itch by way of fiction. Or art. I was getting desperate. Unfortunately, there wasn't much Hellboy/Abe fiction that I could find, but what I did read were not bad.
But seriously, come on people! There's like, manly love and drunken singing and cute little nicknames for each other (but then again, other people use it too) and HB is so protective of Abe not to mention Abe's sexy half-nakedness like almost all the time and HB's tail. That can be moved. *dies*
But this post isn't about Hellboy and Abe, unfortunately. It was what I stumbled upon during my quest of more HB/Abe. I can't remember how I started, but I found a LJ that is doing a webcomic using action figurines of Hellboy characters plus special guest appearences by other fandoms. And the pairing was of Kroenen/Abe, which I have never seen before as Kroenen was in the first movie which I didn't watch.
BUT! It's damn funny and cute and it still amazes me how much movement action figures can make when they're all static. Website is
HERE! I don't think that it matters whether or not you know the characters, since they're pretty much OOC anyway, so just enjoy the romance and abuse between an undead, blade and gun wielding, Nazi supporting assassin and a book-loving, psychic (what's the term for those people who reads memories of objects?) blue-coloured fish-man.
And proof of how awesome this webcomic is and why you should check it out? The director of Hellboy, and the creator of Hellboy have given their stamp of approval of a gay romance between 2 of their characters! The creators of the webcomic have met both the director and artist and have spoken to them. They've even posed for pictures with the figurines, and the artist held them in a kissing position! How cool is that? Plus the director linked their site at his webpage. Also, once this LJ was a featured LJ. Can you believe it? A LJ of a gay romance webcomic is a featured LJ. Words fail to express my glee.
I still maintain my love for Hellboy/Abe and hope that it'll get more attention someday, but in the meantime, this'll do. ^_^ That being said, go and read it!
