The first person Babe thinks of is Gene, but Gene's gotta have his hands full with Joe after something like that, unless Joe's gone off somewhere on his own. Then, there's Buck. Nah, he ain't ready for that yet, not after seeing him with that look on his face and his cracked voice when he'd screamed for a medic

"I've always said, you can can always get a cigarette around here if you know who to fuck."

Eden takes a long drag on her cigarette before she looks up at her. For a moment, her smile's unguarded, and then she holds out the cigarette to him. When she sees the pig walking along behind him, she raises an eyebrow.

"Well, then. Who's your friend, Babe?"

Babe's got half a mind to believe her, but for some reason, he doesn't. Maybe it's the smile, but he's not gonna be gullible on this one, even if it does send this heavy feeling through his chest, like he wants to find the guy and kick his face in.

"Cigarette's worth it," he says, going along with it as he accepts the cigarette. He shrugs. "I dunno, she ain't told me her name yet," he answers, then takes what he believes to be a well deserved pull off the smoke.

Relieved of her cigarette, Eden holds out her hand to the piglet, wiggling her fingers until it comes trotting towards her. It's small,and, not for the first time, it reminds her of how much she misses Ruby.

"Maybe she hasn't got one."

Kneeling to a crouch, Babe watches the piglet snort her way towards Sinclair. That's a surprise, but why should it be?

Babe's ears still ring from hearing the fire that killed Muck and Pinkalla. He passes the smoke back to Sinclair, frowning warily. "What were ya fightin' for back home?" he asks 'cause it's something he hasn't and it's time he did.
