Its not really the activities its more the conversation with her friends that would be awkward. Could you see me sitting around a bonfire listening to country music drinking beer, belching and talking about hunting?

You're a different breed, that is all. Country folk aren't THAT bad.
ALTHOUGH, people who never shut up about their exboyfriend/selfish tendencies are lame and you don't really NEED to put up with it, but I think you should because you're there for another couple of months yet, lady. Hopefully, you both will talk it out, you will state your opinion about it and then she will go "omg hey, I'm in Italy. My exboyfriend has nothing to do with it. Let's start fresh" and it'll be like heaven from then on out. Maybe.

Its more because she won't stop talking than it is that she's country folk. I can deal with that. People come from different places and like different things. Whatevs.

I'm trying to just hang in there because she's stressed about about the way things are transpiring between her friends at home and she can do anything and keep trying to tell her that she needs to live in the here and now which doesn't involve her friends at home. "You can care for them and you can love them and miss them but, you can't control them. While you're here OR at home. So you just gotta let them do what their going to do while your gone and deal with it when you get back. " Is more or less what I told her.

Like you said though, SHE is gonna do what she is gonna do and you can't control it either. It takes a while to understand that thinking about the future/past only gets one stressed. I learned that from Yogasan. I have much to tell you in that sense but I'll tell you later.
