Stove update: We received a new electric stove last Monday, but discovered that the landlord had not reckoned on the need for a 220 outlet and an electrician's help in getting it all set up. After some assessing and estimating it seems that it's still less expensive to have an electrician install a new outlet and hook it all up than to go ahead and

I would imagine that you'll have the stove working by Wednesday, but probably Tuesday if the electrician has finished in the basement and is now up to your apartment. The only hitch I can imagine is that he still will have to run a line from your apartment to the basement. That's why I think Wednesday is a possibility. In any event, good luck!
