Beautiful
It's been a while since I last wrote here. Somehow, I lost the will to write here. It may be that I've outgrown this blog. Or maybe, I just don't have anything to write about. But I'm here again... So let's do this!
I spent the last hour jogging... or rather, trying to do some decent jogging. I started doing this over the holidays as a way of atoning for all the food I ate during the holidays. I wasn't doing anything hardcore, just a couple of kilometers a day, everyday. Our village is on top of a hill, so there are some inclines that could really get you going. I jogged with my two sisters, so there wasn't any need for background music. We did this before dinner, and it was nice smelling what our neighbors were preparing for their dinners. This routine lasted all throughout holidays, and I was really pleased with myself. After all, nobody (or at least nobody from my set of friends) really lose weight during the Christmas holidays. So seeing their reactions after we went back to work was really rewarding, and convinced me to jog some more.
Sadly, I didn't lace up my running shoes until today. Not that I totally forgot about it. There were several time when I brought my shoes to the clinic, only to remain in my bag due to some dinner or drinking plans. Next thing I knew, it's been a month already since I last jogged Oh no!!!
So after my last homecare patient, I took a quick shower, and changed into my jogging clothes. I could tell that my mum was surprised, coz instead of her usual spiel about going out after you've gone home, she just asked me if they were to wait for me for dinner. I started out pretty good, around 5 blocks of briskwalking for warm-up. Then 200 meters of jogging. I should've been alternating fast jogs with slow jogs for recovery after that initial 200 meters, but my legs were just telling me, "No way, Jose!' After 30 minutes of slow jogging, I was seriously wishing that a dog would run after me so I'll have a good excuse to go home already.
To sum it up: first jogging session for 2012: FAIL!
Not everything was lost though. I brought along my music player since I'll be jogging solo. Having it on shuffle mode really works wonders in making you listen to your other music, not just the usual suspects. I chanced on a song by the Korean Indie band, 10cm. The intro reminds me a Maroon 5 song, but it does have its own appeal. What really sold me on the song was its naughty undertones, hahaha. Here it is, and its lyrics for you guys to enjoy :D
