Well this is a first. I got an e-mail from a friend yesterday (fellow VO from NYC) who was helping a friend find a voice actor (needed a male in the NYC/Philly area), and I was the only person she could think of to do a series of industrials for a medical company.
I figured that I needed to audition, etc. right?

I try not to think about it too much unless it seems to be a trend (you'll drive yourself nuts). I just do the best I can, with what I have.
That said, I'm constantly training, performing, auditioning, etc. I'll be the first to admit that marketing isn't my strong point and it's the weakest part of what I do, but I'm working on it as best possible.
Bob Bergen put it simply as this: whatever the weakness is in your game, that's what is causing you to miss out on auditions. Strengthen that first and then re-assess. Otherwise, don't worry about the auditions... better to worry about the upcoming ones than the ones you can't do anything about.
