I agree that emotional problems can directly affect the body. Or, emotional problems that stem from one physical problem, like a chemical imbalance in the brain, can cause other physical problems to arise.

I'm not convinced, though, that the stifling of anger or creativity causes some maladies--say uterine fibroids for example. Uterine fibroids form for the same reason other fatty and benign tumors form. Even a person who is completely healthy emotionally and physically, has a good diet, and plenty of exercise will develop fibroids. Good diet and good mantra cannot always overcome what genetics has predetermined.

All I'm saying is: Take away the cause and the effect ceases. Treat the cause, not the symptom.

I agree. As I've said before, like with depression, you have to treat the cause or else it doesn't go away. Same with physical ailments.

I just don't think that some things are caused by emotional disturbances. That's what I was really driving at. An emotionally, mentally, and otherwise physically healthy woman can develop fibroids. I've known a few. It just happens. There are some physical phenomena that can't be easily explained.

It is well known that fibroids are virtually unheard of outside of the industrialized world and that they are extremely diet sensitive, so that tells me there are things that we are doing that inadvertantly cause them. There are also things we can do to prevent our bodies from expressing the genetic predisposition to things like this...changing the daily habits that make them more likely being high on that list.
