when philly institutions make the national news, it's always because of something lame

The image Philly presents to the world is the bestest, and Geno's is overrated, anyways.

Best part of the article: Of course, it's not as if native Philadelphians speak the King's English either. A Philadelphian might order a cheesesteak by saying something like, "Yo, gimme a cheesesteak wit, will youse?" ("Wit," or "with," means with fried onions ( Read more... )

LOL

That's sooooo ridiculous. Wow.

As a businessman it's not really his place to spew his own politics. He's honestly an idiot, detracting business like that.

Or maybe he's smart and thinks that the public attention will just make him more money. People are stupid and it would be ridiculous if that happened but it wouldn't surprise me.

Oh well.

He probably loves the attention, and I'm sure people will make it a point to go there and buy food just because of his philosophy. He'll probably lose business, too, but you can't beat the national attention this whole thing is bringing on his business, sadly.

Ah, I love how America makes idiots into celebs.

Did they really need to bring up the fact that he has a emorial to Dan Faulkner and ever so causlly imply that he is an uneducated racist? That is not unbiased journalism.

Cheesesteakes are disgusting. If they care so much, maybe we should just educate immigrants about how not to slowly eat their way to heart attacks?

Eh. I can't tell whether the reporter's just trying to present the facts, and they all sort of swing themselves in a manner that paints the owner in a negative light, or whether he's making the owner look negative on purpose. I imagine he could use more unbiased language, though.

I think the owner's a hypocrite, myself. Education wouldn't make him any less of an idiot, and he's more of a xenophobe than a racist, which is still pretty horrible.

And hey, I like cheesesteaks, but not with that Wiz crap. That's just gross. As long as you aren't eating one every day, you should be fine (though, sadly, I'm sure that's how a lot of people around here eat :-\)

My cholesterol was high as all hell in high school. It's not so hard to make it go down, though, at least it wasn't for me. I just ate less meat and decreased my intake of animal products.
