See, I knew there were reasons why some people would choose Season 3! Everyone said I was crazy! :-)

Hehe, I think the original fans hold seasons 1 and 2 as the best, but season 3 attracted a completely new bunch of fans who actually forms a large proportion of HIMYM's fandom nowadays! ^^ (I'm assuming this from the fact that the BroTP community seems to be the most active and fan-filled)

On livejournal certainly. But on other forums it seems like a more even spread between general fans and BrOTP. I think it's just that BrOTP inspired the biggest amount of fanfiction?

I do think that BroTP inspires the most fan-activity..

On other forums I have seen a reasonable amount of anti-BroTP fans (I'm thinking mostly imdb, twop, fanforums perhaps? Though their BroTP thread is by far and large the longest thread and most active...). However, it seems like most fanfiction and fandom activities seemed to have been inspired post BroTP era...

Then again, Barney's whole tragic life story, and the fact that it's on a sitcom, is just one long angsty fanfic waiting to be written... and I guess the relationship with Robin is pretty inspirational for that... :)
